CRS305 fan mod

Wed Aug 30, 2023 12:48 am

Hello all,
i was searching for solution how to efectively cool CRS305 with RJ45 modules and found out there could be potentially FAN header on the board.
Could somebody confirm that these pins are really unpopulated fan header?

If this is fan header it could be easily populated and fan could nicely cool whole device together with RJ45 modules

Thanks ConradPino, but as far as I could tell they are using external power supply for the fan, I was looking for using internal header and powersource if exists

You could check those pins with a multimeter to see if there's any voltage between them.

Alternatively you could get a small dc-dc converter and tap onto the dc barrel jack directly to get power and then attach a fan of your choice to the converter.
