discarding BFD packet: too short

Sun Feb 25, 2024 2:27 pm

hello gurus !

After update CCR1036v2 from 6.49.8 to 6.49.13 became to got more often spontanously in logs text : discarding BFD packet: too short and Internet became strange works after Mikrotik for some time . And second strange text is Error sending e-mail <autosupout.rif>: AUTH failed , but I dont use any email sending.
For now I blocked 3784 UDP , but not sure 100% if this solution will work.
Tried to change in Routing/BFD - interface all to not usable Bridge2 , but i can not change this .

Any solution of this bug that works ?

It is not a bug. Something is sending non bfd packet to bfd port, so bfd reports that it is not a valid bfd packet.

I know English and I understand it. But need a workable solution how to fix the problem or solution is just ignore reports in logs and all will be fine ?
For now in logs it is gone again...but can be spontaneously .

ohhh... i saw here many gurus from Mikrotik , so thought that official support here too. Guess better to talk about problems, bugs in public - then other people can read it and dont ask questions again by the private support .

Solution is just like for any other unwanted traffic. You block it.

Or upgrade to v7 and remove all BFD config.
