I am interested if in near future we will have something as UUID on config lines and log state of those.
This may provide possibilities for future modular setup where admin can add and remove bunch of rules with activating some module or the things can be managed automatically by event or condition.
Currently this could be done with excessive scripting but is still possible, however simplify this will give an extra functionality.
Imagine if you can just load a file with some rules in specific condition and to remove them when the condition is recovered.
However I am not a scripting guru in ROS so I accept any advice.

Best you can do is use comments today. Those comments could be UUIDs if you wanted, but nothing automatic.

Another technique is using functions that do wrap the ":if ([find name=ether1] do={ set name=MyName } else={ add name=MyName }" kinda logic, this can reduce the script size, but not the complexity.
