Shaping users on the same radio...

Sat May 28, 2005 9:42 pm

Hi folks,

I know that if users connected to the same wireless card and having same subnet (for example 192.168.0.0) can't be traffic shaped, or magled etc...
The only solution for this, that I know, is to give users different subnet addresses, so they will go through nat and then they could be traffic shaped etc...
I want to ask Mikrotik staff is it possible to mark traffic, and if not, can something be done in future releases of Mikrotik OS?

Thx and cheers...

All at the same speed?

Using PCQ (Per Connection Queueing).

I wrote a script that generates the Mikrotik console commands from a MySQL database and then connects via SSH to the box, and sends the commands.

First it create an IP Firewall Mangle rule based on their MAC address, then associates flow to the queue tree at whatever speed. Works great!

Email my username(on this board) at gmail.com if you want the script.
