'simple' queue question

Tue May 18, 2010 2:40 pm

Hi there

If I want to simply monitor traffic usage from internal IP address (on my LAN), can I use the global-in and global-out parents for the individual queue trees?

I just want to see who on the LAN is using the most internet traffic.

Or perhaps do I need to create parents for each of my WAN connections, put them into a queue and then reference this?

simple queue is more hard for router than queue tree. But if you have powerfull router (not Routerboard, even if its RB1100) you can use simple queue for each user IP. In my setup on quad 6600 cpu i have more than 3000 queue without degradation on latency or speed, but then i setup queue tree, beacose i need queue for more than 5000 IP
