Sprint 250U.

Tue Sep 14, 2010 12:49 am

Just got one in...

It runs on the X86 platform.. (Blackbird)

I will take a look at the MIPS (be) on the 433UAH tonight...

I am in contact with a user in NY, and his will not connect... (433 UAH)

Strange as I would think it is the same basic code base...

More to come..

Got it...

Sprint 250U on RB433...

1) Create the ppp-client settings.
2) Enable the ppp-client (Yes it will apear hung)
3) LEAVE THE MODEM ALONE.
4) Reboot the Router. (Soft seems to be fine)

Upon reboot the modem will connect....

OK I just scored a 8 of 10 on the weirdometer....
DONT open a terminal from winbox and "print" the PPP-Client information.
The modem will disconnect and lockup into an "initializing modem" state...
I found out the hard way...

Settings:

0 name="ppp-out1" max-mtu=1500 max-mru=1500 mrru=disabled port=usb2
data-channel=0 info-channel=1 pin="" user="" password="" profile=default
phone="#777" dial-command="ATDT" modem-init="" null-modem=no
dial-on-demand=no add-default-route=yes use-peer-dns=yes
keepalive-timeout=30 allow=pap,chap,mschap1,mschap2

I dont have clear docs on the Ant ports yet, but the port nearrest the "Sprrint logo side (With the LEDs of the "puck" is the 3G and the one at the rear is the 4G.. I am waitng for a Sprint Eng to verify it for me..

It looks like i will prob. ditch the 250U..

There is also a 600U that is a better form factor for us.
(These are going in Blackbirds)...

As soon as I get my hands on one I will update...

I THINK thay are the same chipset as the 250U (I COULD be wrong)

I will snap a Sup Out for MikroTik before i send the 250 back...

And will prob. need to send one to get the 600 added.

More to come....

Did you ever get this working? I also have a 250U that I would like to get working with the Routerboards.

Bump for a update if anyone can confirm that the 250U works with Routerboard.
