Open VPN on a Wireless VLAN for Accessing Geo-blocked Content

I'm trying to figure out if I can use VPN Express's Open VPNs username and passwords to do the following... (I realise I can use the VPN Express app instead but I want to learn and play around with the router). 1. Firstly, can I bypass VPN Express and roll my own somehow for less than $6.67 US p/m? ...

Re: Calculating Power Consumption for POE

Thanks mkx. I wasn't sure if MK were referring to devices connected on ether ports and or wlan too. I couldn't see that affecting power consumption unless, as you say they were supplying power to a device on one of those ports. What you say makes total sense.

Calculating Power Consumption for POE

What does Mikrotik mean when they state "Max power consumption without attachments" in the power section of specifications or their hardware?

Mikrotik Mobile App [SOLVED]

Hello All, I can't get my app on iOs to connect and am wondering what I might have done in my config to block access. After 6 seconds Error is connection refused. Nothing is logged by my router, all drop rules are set to log. Which IP service does the app use? I've allowed access to several services...

Re: Large Apartment, no Ethernet

I’ll be been told by the MK distributor here is Australia that that module can convert twisted pair to Ethernet unless I’m mistaken. You can use an MK SFP router at both ends to get the job done apparently. The building is an unusual set up, as I said earlier electricians have had a terrible time tr...

Re: Large Apartment, no Ethernet

Thanks Patenot,
I've looked at these: https://shop.duxtel.com.au/product_info ... cts_id=341
they could help in places if there's twisted pair in place. Have you found this solution to be reliable?

Re: Large Apartment, no Ethernet

Thanks so much for the replies everyone. I set a notification so I'd know if I got on, they never arrived. Powerline is out of the question. I have used it before and it's mostly been terribly unreliable. In this apartment the power outlets would be on 2-3 separate circuits, each with their own brea...

Large Apartment, no Ethernet

I'm wondering how I could best implement wireless coverage in an apartment with no ethernet links between AP's, due to the buildings design it will proce very difficult to run data cable to other rooms. Vague plan so far: Connect modem to MK wireless router via ether1, in the hallway outside setup a...

Re: Content filtering with web proxy - adult sites

The problem with Open DNS is that there's no google image filtering. You can see anything and everything with Open DNS active. It drives me nuts that they claim to be able to filter porn on their site, it's absurd.
Only way to block undesirable images is to block google entirely.
