Re: v6.44.5 [long-term] is released!

How do you guys propose we make such a changelog? This is the long term branch, where releases are very rare, and the jumps are very big. Imagine there could be 15 fixes, new bugs, fixes again, then the feature could be already removed, then a new one added, removed again, and then a new feature ma...

Re: Routing next hop recursion not working over PPP framed routes

I understand that this is probably not the best design. However the PPPoE client is dual homed, and needs to use eBGP for that purpose. The eBGP peer establishes fine using a framed route over PPPoE, and BGP prefixes are exchanged correctly. However routes learned by eBGP have a next hop address of ...

Re: Routing next hop recursion not working over PPP framed routes

Thanks for the tip. It would work for this contrived example with static routes, but what about with BGP or other protocols which use next hop addresses?

My use case is using BGP over PPPoE.

Routing next hop recursion not working over PPP framed routes

I'm seeing what appears to be a recent bug with recursive routing over PPP framed routes. I'm guessing this change of behaviour was introduced in 6.40 as part of "ppp - use interface name instead of IP as default route gateway;" or related change. In 6.38.7 (bugfix), it works fine as follows: [admin...

Re: Tagged VLAN 1 frames on RB1100AHx4

This is a known issue on the RB1100AHx4, confirmed by MikroTik support:
This is a know issue, we are working on fixing it, but sadly for now you will have
to avoid using VLAN interfaces with VLAN 1.

Tagged VLAN 1 frames on RB1100AHx4

I am unable to reliably send/receive tagged VLAN 1 frames on a RB1100AHx4 (aka RB1100Dx4). The default switch port configuration is default-vlan-id=1 on all ports: /interface ethernet switch port set 0 default-vlan-id=1 !egress-rate !ingress-rate set 1 default-vlan-id=1 !egress-rate !ingress-rate se...

Problem with redistributing into OSPF (v6.20)

I have a production router running RouterOS 6.20 (CCR1016-12G). It was redistributing connected and static routes into OSPF, as expected: [Mikrotik] > /routing ospf instance export set [ find default=yes ] metric-bgp=16777214 metric-default=20 metric-other-ospf=16777214 name=core redistribute-connec...

Re: How to see Ethernet Port Uptime?

The last-link-up-time/last-link-down-time was introduced by RouterOS 6.22 nov/11/2014 (was not present in 6.20). To see these values from the command-line, use /interface print detail terse This information is not present under the "/interface TYPE print detail" command, only the top-level "/interfa...
