Re: skip hotspot user profiles bandwidth

Hi there not 100% certain....maybe someone else can confirm. I think you should make you client simple queues static, mark the packets from the server and then add a static simple queue for it "unlimited" We also have a server from where people can download and it worked for me. Give it a try. To di...

Re: IMPROVING MY NETWORK !!

Hi JJCinAZ thanks for the reply. I thought that would be the case as I have noticed overhall system performace slow down as the bridged network grew. I suppose if I have a chocked node that would affect the entire network as packets are broadcasted on the whole network. As I am not that informed on ...

IMPROVING MY NETWORK !!

Hi all am looking for some advice in improving our WISP network. I have notice that lately our network has become sluggish and I know it could perform alot better. A brief network description: We have an all Bridged network in the 10.0.0.0 ip range with a total of 7 routers (all bridged) with one ho...

Re: Session Announcement Protocol (SAP) and Multicast IP Address

sorry guys. I was looking for this too a little while back, but unfortunately Mikrotik does not currently support multicast.
You can just broadcast but this will flood your entire bridged network

queue tree and mangle

Hi Guys I read all I can about the subject, including the manual but I still think I am not doing this right. I am using queue trees to shape traffic on all of our 6 hotspots. Whilst I think its working, I dont think I am doing it completely right. For example. On one of our hotspots, Wlan2 is our b...

multicast - video with LVC

Hi Guys I know this issue has been discussed before and I gather Mikrotik does not handle multicast...but here it goes anyway :) I am trying to stream some video using LVC in multicast mode. We have a network with 6 Mikrotik routers all connected in bridge mode. I can see the packets being streamed ...

REPEATER MODE

Hi all trying to get the following repeater configuration to work but I am obviously missing something. All ip addresses are bridge addresses. 10.0.0.210 as wds station (btw this is main station connected to adsl modem) set with dynamic wds 10.0.0.203 as AP Bridge set with dynaminc wds 10.0.0.204 as...

Hi Biggs

we switched from cm9 cards to SR2 about a month ago all seemed ok to start with, but the antenna with the most problems still has a cm9.

We only have a few clients over 1 km the great majority are at about 600m range

I will do dome ping tests

Thanks

Hi Rickard thenks for the info. I was thinking of using H antennas but opted to stay with V.....maybe I should have gone for it. I will try and switch one of our antennas to G only and re-configure the CPE's to match and see what happens. Does anyone know if G will handle more packets per second tha...

Hi Thanks for the input. 3 of our access points are omnis and we just installed 2 x 90 degree sectors. We have switched 4 clients to the sectors and 3 report good links with max allowed transfer rates while the other was perfect at first and the complaint again that browsing was slow. Fresnel may ha...

B or G ?

Hi all we are running several access points in a small town and currently have around 50 clients. Over the last few weeks we have been experiencing interfearance issues (i think). The problem is that all appears good but clients report slow browsing speeds. I have checked everything!!!!!! Average si...

UDP connections

Hi Guys Am having a really bad time with poor VOIP and Skype performance on our network. I have an antenna purely dedicated to clients using our Trixbox server as on our other antennas (where the majority of the clients are) Voip and Skype are basically un-usable. I have noticed many UPD connections...

LIMITING CONNECTIONS

Hi all like many of you, we have a rather annoying problem with clients using various P2P programs to download movies and so on. We have set up queues so that P2P is limited to very little but I find that the upload speed of some clients is still fairly high and the number of connections is also ver...

Hi sergejs Yes, no errors in log. Userman seems to be doing all correctly. The page "you have succesfully logged in" is generated by the hotspot "i think" and not userman so I assume all is ok. Userman logs the session ok and hotspot shows me as authenticated and shows the MAC in the active window.....

Hi Thanks for the advice. All SIP extensions are set to No "canreinvite". I think our main problem is the amp and the number of registered users on the same antenna. Am i right in thinking that I can set just one rule in Mangle to monitor and prioritise my Voip traffic just with my Asterisk server i...
