Re: The Dude IS Dead, really, isn't it?

Dude broke the network and had to stop using it. It was causing an interrupt about every 2 minutes which brought 80 users to their knees and not a religious experience I'd like to repeat! Am phasing out all Mikrotik devices from the networks as they don't seem interested in maintaining their firmwar...

Re: upgrade is not working

am having similar problem with SWOS on a RB260gps upgrading from 2.4 to 2.8 firmware. Tried to upgrade half a dozen times to no avail. Had to climb down the tower and give up. Would like to know what the problem was before the unit gets scrapped.

Re: Options for hosting Dude Server

we spent well over a thousand dollars in certified mikrotik experts to get a dude server up and they couldn't resolve the glitching problem in server 6 and later that server 3beta4 didn't have. The problem made our networks unuseable. I have yet to read a report that claims the problem has been reso...

Re: Is the new dude production stable now ?

Is not stable for us. Running on 750gr3. Causes all routers monitored to pause, while cpus get real busy. This has been reported by other users elsewhere in this forum. Our solution after spending a lot of money on tech-support trying to fix this was to unplug-it. 4beta3 worked great, newer versions...

Re: x86 ROS Device SSL process spikes router CPU to 100%

I been trying to find why my networks have a cyclic interference issue that make them operate like a yo-yo (up-down) and we were thinking it was a feedback issue. At least now I can see other people are experiencing something too! This problem actually cuts clients off from the internet momentarily....

Dude causes monitored networks to be erratic and slow

I've had 2 of the best work on this and it still is screwed-up! I've got the 750gr3 running dude 6.39.2, they used gre tunnels to connect 3 other mtik routers, all 3 networks have slow issues and multiple timeouts rendering customers with a useless internet connection. All network routers on same fi...

Lockup during 2.6 upgrade

I went to upgrade a 260gsp to 2.6 and now the tower is down. It was running 2.0, now it's offline and I have to drive an hour to a mtn top and try and fix it in the rain. Feel like an idiot for not having a spare on hand! What can be done to revive this switch?

Re: New device that supports The Dude server package: RB750r3 hEX [SOLVED]

Lets see, my last post on this subject was 2 months ago, very timely, thank you. I see gah789 hasn't been back either. Even though I was able to get the Dude running on the rb750gr3, I was unable to get the rb750gr3 configured into anything remotely operational. The manual is a joke and was obviousl...

dude router fails login to other routers

New install Dude 6.39.2 is running on rb750glr3. I have 3 pptp tunnels, 3 pptp users, 3 routerboardos running 6.39.2. Dude can login just fine to router1 via user1 login, cannot login to router2 or 3 via those user names. All the settings were copied from a previous 4beta3 dude operation. Am able to...

Re: New device that supports The Dude server package: RB750r3 hEX [SOLVED]

did not work. Here's what I noticed. Reset 750gr3. login to it, remove config. Copy text of exported file from rb2011 into terminal, reboot, can't login. Repeat previous except don't reboot. Found stuff about rb2011 installed, however, none of that stuff was in the text (at least the part printed ou...

Re: New device that supports The Dude server package: RB750r3 hEX [SOLVED]

I don't suspect a router not responding to ping is going to telnet. No I haven't tried telnet. Having never used telnet in the last 30 years, didn't seem worth re-learning nor did it even come to mind. Is this spaghetti cooking class, see what sticks to the wall? I get a MAC and an IP showing in the...

Re: New device that supports The Dude server package: RB750r3 hEX [SOLVED]

Neighbor tab in winbox shows an address and a mac but can't login. Attempts at login leave the winbox screen as greyed-out for a very long time (15 or more minutes) and then give a failed message.

been there, done that, doesn't work, which is why I'm here. I really love it when I get or see the RTFM reply. Just really means you don't know or won't share the answer. Re: New device that supports The Dude server package: RB750r3 hEX [SOLVED]

This is very bad. I have a complex number of stuff to transfer from one router into another. The new one needs to work and you're saying this should never be done? This is so impractical, it is insane! It would take hours to retype all this stuff and the passwords of numerous users would be lost. I'...

Re: New device that supports The Dude server package: RB750r3 hEX [SOLVED]

I should say I had it working. No matter what I try, I could not get it to take the backup data from the previous router. Restore of the un-encrypted file even after removal of the ethernet port data fails. Restore of the other file causes a lockup. Cannot even login via winbox or webfig. I get the ...

Re: New device that supports The Dude server package: RB750r3 hEX [SOLVED]

I just bought 2 of these 750gr3 things because the first place I ordered one from was unable to ship for 2-3weeks. So I ordered another from elsewhere. Big mistake, can't get either one to install Dude, so now I have an extra one and the project is over a month late. I inserted a 64Gb microsd chip. ...

replace 4beta3 with current bug fix

I've got 3 NOCs. 2 NOCs are using RB2011 and 1 is using RB1100. I've got a 3rd RB2011 connecting all 3 NOCs and the main office for supervising and monitoring. I have an old Dell running 4.0beta3 pointed at the 3rd RB2011. The questions are: 1 Can I use the 3rd RB2011 as a Dude server running the cu...
