easiest way I found around this was the change the port number, those automated scanning tools only ever use the default ports, so just change your SSH, telnet ports to something different (say SSH=40022)

you can do this under /ip services

Hi,

I am wondering if anyone has used the modules from the wiki (im using vb.net module) to issue the fetch command?

Does the module need enhancing, or can you just do it via the "Send" command??

Any ideas on the syntax?

The serial device does not get the data sent,. I assume its neither sending nor receiving.

Yeah thats what I thought, however as I said I cannot get that to work at all, even with a gateway enabled.

I have just checked, I can ping the mikrotik (10.5.50.1), and even external IP addresses, but I cant access the external IP's, or even the mikrotik IP.

So there is no way to have a totally anonymous client connect sucessfully. That is what we require, we dont want users to have to modify their IP settings at all. We dont want to have to add them manualaly to get them to work, thats absolutely useless to us. There is no way to make it work seamlessly?

Thankyou for your reply, the rule you entered is actually wrong, you need to set the action=Nat, otherwise it defaults to Accept which does work.
