Re: hardware idea for a multiport switch

Look nice but will soon raise up problems in usage.
The best way to use it is in the ceiling of the rack, port facing down to avoid dust and ease usage.
Better to make front and back ports.

Re: Failover with Email

Hello Most likely yes. However, it's not meant to be changing so often. May be once in a while. But to overcome this, you can choose an IP address which is just behind the pppoe server and only reachable that way, or make a script with a scheduler linked which will take the remote address of pppoe c...

Re: Natting Problem (HairPin Nat) [SOLVED]

Thanks for your answer, I can't see any constraints, if you mean rules/ filters etc Let's do this, disable the hairpin NAT rule and go to following steps. How are you accessing the mail server from internal network, and which error does that gives you ? Are you able to reach other servers correctly...

Re: Failover with Email

Hello Netwatch works by cheking a device reachability by using its IP Address. So first, you should find the IP address that PPPoE server is using (note that if this IP change, netwatch function won't work). You can check remote address in the status tab of your client pppoe interface. Since, you're...

Re: v6.42 [current]

Redmor - In order to see improvements you must upgrade AP devices. Please note that in most cases you can see the difference only, if there are more than 10 stations connected (number can vary, it can be more and it can be less than 10). What do you mean with "upgrade", isn't 6.42 enough? I have to...

Re: Help with enabling FastTrack

Hi Simple checking, winbox RB2011 does have fast and gigaEthernent port. I assume you select GigaEthernet port while increasing the bandwith. General info, Fastrack allow you to bypass most of the firewall and bandwidth shapping rules. If there is no such limit, you should be able to get full bandwi...

Re: Cisco Interfaces No Longer Work in Dude GUI

Hi Dude v6 has two parts. The server and the client part. The server version runs on RouterOS (on CHR, CCR, RB1100Dx4, RB750Gr3, and CRS326). It's the client part which runs on Windows. It should also runs on wine since winbox runs on wine and dude client isn't so far from winbox. Regards Jacob Sorr...

Re: Mikrotik,UNIFI Combination,or just Mikrotik-Help on decision

Hello Dannyboy. This is quite many years ago and I really hope you did well with your project. It's quite difficult for tech-people to reply to such question whereas we always need guidance from those who have already taken the road we're taking. So as this is 4 years ago, whichever way you took you...

Hello Mac, You won't be wrong creating a new post for your issue as it's a different topic than the current one, and you may miss chance to get a correct answer. However, since primo you're using release candidate, and secondo user manager is in experimental state on MMIPS, you'll better contact sup...

Re: Antenna Gain

Hi

I doubt if it's still necessary. However,

by teodorch » Mon May 02, 2016 7:38 am
it depends on your board. But putting the antenn gain as high as possible and your tx power as low as possible will make your wirelles coverag as weak as possible.

Hi Normis

Congratulation to Mikrotik ! Very nice and useful tool.

On data rate selection for some device like Disc, it allows to select up to the highest, which i doubt on the possibility.

Hi
You can look at RBMetalG-52SHPacn or RBMetal2SHPn. It has a super high power output.
You can get around a radius 250m.

Re: CHR User-manager connection limit

I read about writing a script to backup the database on one router and load it on the other, but also that the load fails when there are active connections. So that does not seem like a usable solution. I guess for that one on the loaded router you can disable connection to it before to load the da...
