I missed the "add". Sorry about that :) /ip firewall filter add action=accept chain=input src-address-type=local And don't forget to place it higher than the last "drop" rule. I noticed that "add" was missing (from the wiki manual), so I tried it with "add" as well. It does not work, but I think th...

Re: Capsman manager running on RB2011, but no CAP on it [SOLVED]

The problem is in the firewall: you need to add a rule to the input chain that will allow src-address-type=local Thank you for this solution, I will give it a try. If it is not too much to ask, can you please tell me the command for this? Sorry to ask this, but I am very new to this, will probably ...

Capsman manager running on RB2011, but no CAP on it [SOLVED]

As the title goes, I have successfully set up CAPSMAN on RB2011 plus 2 CAPs (RB4011 is CAP1 and RB952 is CAP2). All is perfect, except I cannot make RB2011 act as CAP3 - it has wi-fi, but only the guest wi-fi...and in CAPSMAN settings only cap interfaces for remote CAPs are shown, no RB2011 wi-fi th...

Re: CAPSMAN + Guest WiFi

I'll assume you want to set up a virtual AP to run guest WiFi and that you'll use VLANs to separate traffic of both APs between each other. So the setup steps are more or less the following: in /caps-man datapath create two datapaths appropriate for both traffic sources (VAPs). Set appropriate prop...

You are free to use any port or multiple ones for your WAN connection. That depends only on how you configure the router. As it is clearly stated in the wiki, only combo port accepts 100mb sfp modules, so even if it worked you wouldn't get any additional free ethernet ports: https://wiki.mikrotik.c...

To correct/clarify what I said earlier - That's a single mode optic so you won't see light coming out of it. I'm not familiar with optical to the residence, I wasn't aware that it's single mode. I guess it would be unless you were less than 300 meters or so from the device providing the connection....
