Re: v6.41rc [release candidate] is released! New bridge implementation!

On previous releases, a way to flush neighbor discovery entries was to disable and re-enable discovery interfaces. Now, it has no more effects, entries disappear only after aged out. If that's an expected behavior, as "/ip neighbor discovery" menu has disappeared on CLI, winbox "neighbor discovery i...

CRS317 FCS on gigabit port with 100M client

Hello, I didn't find any similar problem on the forum so i make this new topic. I just received the CRS317 so i'm testing it. First thing, as usual, is to update it, but i get between 6kbs and 100kbs to do so... Tried to use IP mode (instead of MAC winbox), the same. Checking port status, i see it w...

Re: Large Scale IPv6 on ROS

With IPv4, your router get a WAN IP Address automatically through PPPoE (with radius, a Framed-IP-Address), you only have to set router IP addresses if the client have a routed subnet (with radius, a Framed-Route) When you need to manage the router, you connect to the WAN IP Address With IPv6, you h...

Re: Large Scale IPv6 on ROS

That would be interesting to get a Mikrotik view of the future of ROS for IPv6, like a roadmap for example... :)

Re: Large Scale IPv6 on ROS

Ok for the server side but the biggest problem is the client side...
Backbone routing is not an issue.

Large Scale IPv6 on ROS

Hello, I've been searching everywhere i could but i didn't find a large scale solution for IPv6 only network with RouterOS. In fact, according to the informations i got, with IPv6, you can't have Framed-IP-Address because IPv6 Address don't rely on PPP but on IPv6 itself: 1) You have to use Framed-I...

MLPPP and SNMP

Hello, I now use MLPPP ppp with FreeBSD MPD and it seems to work well, but now i would like to do monitoring on active links. First approach was to use snmp but it doesn't seems to be implemented neither in RouterOS neither in MPD, is it? Is there any way (MIB or something else) to get this informat...

SSH problems on 5.0rc1

Hello, I found a bug on ssh. Before upgrade i use specific port for ssh, after upgrade i succeed in connecting but password is always rejected.... After a downgrade to 4.11 without any other change, i succeed in both connecting and logging.... So according to other posts, ssh seems to have a real pr...

Re: Bonding interfaces / Dynamic Eoip

Thank you for your informations, but i don't have to wait for MLPPP server because i'll use MPD, and I can't wait years to get GMPLS...

I would like to know how to get MLPPP client work on RouterOS, in PPTP or L2TP (PPPoE is trivial).

Is there a way or will there be a way to do so?

Thanks

Re: Bonding interfaces / Dynamic Eoip

I Never told routeros was mlppp server capable because it is not but it is theorically MLPPP clent capable but there is not mention how to achieve L2TP or PPTP multilink; that should be possible...at least for PPTP which relies on PPP

Re: Bonding interfaces / Dynamic Eoip

Hello, I just try MPD, which seems to work but the problem is located on RouterOS. In fact Mikrotik tell RouterOs is MLPPP capable, and so you have to use the same server or specify interfaces to use for pppoe, but for PPTP, you can't have several connections to same ip through different interface; ...

Re: Bonding interfaces / Dynamic Eoip

I don't want to reinvent the wheel, but as you say, ppp is made to transport ethernet (and others) so as eoip... Why is it possible to add a ppp to a bridge (ethernet) and not to a bonding (ethernet too)... Moreover, PPTP = GRE + TCP for initialization, EOIP = GRE So, maybe EOIP should'nt be changed...

Re: Bonding interfaces / Dynamic Eoip

Hello,

Thank you for your reply.

I already found mpd but i'm unable to find its linux ports, do you have any address where to find it?

I'm very familiar with eoip, so despite it works well, you should also think that an authenticated eoip (like ppp) would be better, don't you?

Regards

Dom

Bonding interfaces / Dynamic Eoip

Hello, I try to bond interfaces to aggregate traffic, so the only interfaces supported are: OVPN which are totally buggy when used in bonding or EOIP which works great The problem is Eoip is totally static, so you have to set, on both sides, the right "ID/Peer address" combination to make it works, ...

Re: Radius & PPTP

I tried Mikrotik-Group it has no effect, with different operators ":=" "=" "=="

radius-default-domain is a hotspot parameter... so it has no effect on pptp server...

Another idea :(

Re: Radius & PPTP

In fact, the client connect to the server through two pptp tunnels (each one related to a different link support), so both get the same gateway... - diagnosing by which one traffic goes (from a traceroute from lan side) is almost impossible - I worry about possible mixing in routes Specifying server...

RouterOS logo

Hi all ! It might be a strange remark but on RouterOS 4.5, the winbox is showing a logo that is known to me but i can't remember where i saw this one before... The logo itself is not a problem, but it make me wonder if Mikrotik is not beeing bought by another big company, with the disagreements rela...
