Re: v7.4beta [testing] is released!

Anyone else having issues with L2TP on these more recent beta versions? (I'm IPSEC encrypted with config set in ip/ipsec rather than under the L2TP client and server config). Client and server both running 7.4beta4, I get (on the client): 16:02:24 l2tp,ppp,info peter_home_l2tp: initializing... 16:02...

Re: Laptop disconnects from wifi once an hour

Did you ever resolve this? I'm seeing similar at the moment, V7.1 on the cap and v6.49.2 on my CAPSMAN.

capsman manager interface (rules) in v7.0beta3

Usually when I'm running capsman from a router that has WAN, I restrict the interfaces capsman manager is running on. "all" is a default, so I set to "forbid=yes" to that entry. I then typically add my LAN bridge with "forbid=no". With v7.0beta3, I found caps would not ...

Do you guys have an ETA for an updated Android TikApp (or beta version), to match the 6.43rc series authentication / login changes?

Re: PPTP with no DNS

This bug just bit me in 2018, RotuerOS does NOT behave the way I would expect.

Would be nice if no PPP profie DNS meant no DNS to clients, perhaps an "auto" option for the current behaviour. (Or, add explicit "no dns" option, keeping current behaviour default).

Re: Feature Request - LAC/LNS functionality

My use-case is to push dial-in connections from machines into meta-router instances. Without this, I cannot pass the PPP termination into the metarouter. With 6.41.x, due to problems with being unable associate dynamically generated tunnel interfaces (from multiple logins) - with a VRF domain, I can...

SSTP Routes and VRF

Hi, I was setting up a VPN link which I wanted to segregate using a VRF route, but noticed that routes added via the PPP "Secrets" entry for a given user appear to be added without the routing mark associated with the SSTP server binding interface. Is it a bug that the routes are not assoc...

Re: v6.41 [current]

I'm using all ports on my RB2011 as a switch with vlans (tagged and untagged) and am getting HW offloading and not seeing any duplicate packets. I posted my config in this thread: https://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=129057&p=634278#p634278 [/quote] My 6.41 configuration (before I ...

Re: v6.41 [current]

Just in the process of downgrading back to 6.40.5.... On the RB2011 it doesn't appear possible to create a working bridge (hw offload) config as efficient as the previous software revision, where we could use switch hardware offload on both the 1000M ports and 100M ports - then bridge those switches...

Additionally, (tested on a RB922 board), there is support for generic USB hub devices. I have one sitting here with a memory stick and FT232 based serial adapter plugged in via a hub.

Re: CRS326-24G-2S+ Port 1 activity light always on. Fault or bug?

Yes, port 1 is the master (when configured with the 6.40 firmware). I don't think there is that distinction any more in the RC firmware. It is quite unexpected that the port 1 LED should behave any differently to the rest of the switch link lights. (It is as if they are using for the CPU port activi...

CRS326-24G-2S+ Port 1 activity light always on. Fault or bug?

Hi guys, Is it normal to see the port1 ethernet link/ activity light on these devices active, despite no cable plugged in? I've tried with the 6.40 series and the 6.41RC series, it happens with both. Just wondering if I have bought a faulty unit that needs warranty return; or if it is a software bug...

Re: RBmAPL-2nD (mAP lite) problem!

Are you connecting via Ethernet, or via the wifi network? Whichever it is, if possible, try coming at it from the other interface. When you configure the device, make sure there are no bridge filter rules which could affect things (if i recall correctly, one of my devices creates the opposite (incor...

Re: v6.41rc [release candidate] is released! New bridge implementation!

I decided to try the 6.41rc release on my new CRS326-24G-2S+. Two notes.. 1. Same with 6.40 release firmware, the LAN activity light on Port 1 RJ45 blinks on (appears to reflect activity on the bridge link?), which appears to be a bug (or is this a hardware fault I should return the unit for?) 2. I ...

Re: Traffic routed to internal server not to external domain

I suspect you need to add more matching rules against your dstnat entries, or make sure those rules only get tested for traffic entering from your external interface.

Re: Mikrotik link calculation source code...

For some products, the link calculator doesn't appear to allow over-riding the transmit power? I tried to look at a hypothetical link with an SXT5, but the TX power + antenna gain locked in when selecting that product sum to 42dBm, exceeding the regulatory approvals in the UK. As I understand (and I...

Re: Feature request: Dynamic VLAN assignment (WLAN)

Just a follow-up for anyone reading... or thinking RouterOS does not support dynamic VLANs (on WiFi)... (which old forum posts suggest) - this is not true. Dynamic wifi VLANs do appear to be possible, just that you need to configure your Radius server to pass attributes set in the inner tunnel authe...

Feature request: Dynamic VLAN assignment (WLAN)

I had hoped to setup VLAN segregation of wireless clients based upon defail forwarded from RADIUS server during WPA2 enterprise authentication. Reading the documentation, and forum posts (back many years), it appears this is not possible on Mikrotik devices (only MAC based radius authentication can ...

DHCP Fails on cAP Lite, mAP 2n after Quickset in CAP mode

Not sure if this is the best place to report a bug, but had a certain amount of difficulty in setting up a cAP Lite and mAP 2n board in CAP mode. Initially, having had problems with the "reset" button method, gave up and set via Winbox. It appears that the DHCP addressing option in "Q...
