I've seen some weird packet issues when using RED for the defaults. So, I've gone back to SFQ for default but use RED for the bulky flows. The behavior of RED as default causes the VoIP queue to drop a single packet here and there when it does not appear to be under pressure. Perhaps there is somet...

Wouldn't it be wise to add this "workaround" to the manuals, guides, howots, etc. spread all around the internet? I didn't see this workaround and thus fell into the bug.

How long has this been a problem?

I already saw that list and that is what prompted me to ask for advice.... the list is long and the format of the specs make it very hard to compare.

need advice on which to purchase

I need a switch with 24 x 1gbps ports, NOT PoE, and such that I can control QoS by MAC address.

What should I consider?
