Re: Connect hap ac lite to poe+ switch

Ah,
that's a nice idea i will give it a try!
Thanks!

GSW-1600HP is the switch i prepared with this setup.
Still, you can buy adapters or you buy a UBNT PoE switch which supports passive PoE as a port option.

Re: Non-Microtik SFP+ DAC with CRS317... is it OK?

Thank you guys very much for your responses. Would you recommend I only purchase items marked as 'Microtik" in the future, or do you think I'm safe continuing to buy these cables? It's safe to buy these cables. They have good compatibility. In a long-term, you can buy cables like ubiquiti, fs....

Re: Best hardware for large 2.4GHz AP

What's your budget? For outdoor use, you can try UAP-AC-PRO, about 120 bucks. The UniFi 802.11AC Dual-Radio APs feature the latest in Wi-Fi 802.11AC MIMO technology and supports simultaneous dual-band, 3x3 MIMO technology in the 5 and 2.4 GHz radio bands.

It seems that your PC hasn't got the gateway. I suggest you type the gateway manually and then test the issue. Open "Network and Sharing center" > "Change adapter settings". Then right click the adapter which you used, and click "Properties" > double click "Interne...

I have a router/switch/gateway and a regular ‘dumb’ switch. I’ll use VLANs. Most devices will be connected to the router. One (occasionally three) devices will be connected to the switch. Will VLAN also work for device connected to that regular switch? If not, what do I need? Thanks for explanation...

For short range, you can use this Generic Compatible 10GBASE-LRM SFP+ 220m DOM Transceiver Module.
or use this optical attenuator to reduce the power level of an optical signal, either in free space or in an optical fiber.

Working temperature of SFP module:
Commercial optical transceiver: 0~70℃
Industrial optical transceiver: -40~85℃
If it works in between the range, that's normal.

200m between a pair of these at 1Gbps, or at 2.5G using STP cable. They do 10G only up to 30m so be mindful of where you want to use them.
They seem really nice though, and for that price it's really good if you want a 200m link using copper.

According to its product specification(https://mikrotik.com/product/CRS109-8G-1S-2HnD-IN). It comes with eight Gigabit Ethernet ports. So you can use this Gigabit SFP. Besides this you mentioned, generic 1000base SFP (http://www.fs.com/c/generic-1000base-sfp-1412) is also available~

You got it. You only need to use compatible module on each switch, and the two connected modules need not to be the same brand. They can work together. It is the interoperability of optical devices.

The copper SFP RJ45 module can be used in SFP1 port. But it makes things difficult and to make things easy you can use a Cat6 Ethernet cable between the modem and the ether1.

Maybe either the MikroTik devices or the SFP+ modules cannot support FICON. You’d better contact tech support from the two vendors for solution. I had the experience to ask for advice from Fiberstore tech team. The response is lightning fast and professional.

@umraf That depends on what kind of module you are using. If you are not sure they are compatible or not, you can buy some generic modules to ensure proper connection.
