You probably already have but you need to make sure that the PC you are plugging into the mikrotik has an IP address assigned to the interface that is plugged into the mikrotik. So if there is no DHCP server available to the PC interface you will have to manually assign an address to it. If you don'...

You don't need the scripts. Put the code you have in those scripts, in the scheduler in place of the code you are using to call the script. Keeps it simple.

Is it possible to assign an IP range to an interface without having to add each individual IP address to the interface?

Say you wanted to assign 192.168.0.10-192.168.0.20 out of a /24 to eth1.

The solution you are looking for can only be fixed by a radio card feature. Intel is making a card that can recieve your signal and 2 different interferences and remove the interference 100%. There is 3 different methods of removing interference. It recieves then all at the same time. It compares t...

So when you have DFS set to radar detect is it looking for actual radar or just seeing if there is noise on the channel?

Does it meet the current requirements for DFS in the states or not?

Re: RouterOS v5rc9

What wireless mode are you running? 802.11? yes That is the problem, unless the MT guys have fixed it with the RC9 release the NV2 package won't run in 802.11 mode without the AP interface locking up after a random period of time. What happens is the AP will stop transmitting data, the clients stay...

Re: RouterOS v5rc9

Major problem (for me) with 5.0rc9 Upgraded all highsites + clients. Some (especially older RB133C3) connect, but can't ping. If you MAC telnet to it it asks for UN/PW but then disconnect before you get the MT splash text. Downgrade AP to 4.16, the client (RB133C3) is still on R5.0rc9 but now works...

Re: NV2 Real life PTMP migration and stability

same results here. I did 18mbps and higher also in order for nv2 to work. Same results on the rb133's also. Once there online you really cant manage the rb133 to well but it works. You can NOT get full bandwidth with nv2 on the rb133 but however it is still very good. I have the NV2 package running...

Re: NV2 Real life PTMP migration and stability

Can't help you much then, NV2 package does some strange stuff with signal levels and noise levels when you have a value entered into the noise floor threshold. So you have set them? Any guideline? I never set these. Should I? If you are running the 4.16 NV2 package my advice is to not set them at a...

Re: How make redundant link network?

With that setup it looks like you would be best off running WDS with RSTP bridging or in mesh mode. There are some examples on the Wiki. Hi, I would like to make a redundant network like the following diagram: http://www.cosasco.com/images/mesh_network_diagram.jpg In this example I need to have k.o....

Re: Whitespace

I was just curious if anyone is aware of anyone currently making, or who will be making whitespace enabled radio cards for MikroTik devices?
I think UBNT is making a card but I can't remember for sure you may want to check their site.

No, currently torch does not have packet-marks for checking.
Well is there anyway period to sniff marked traffic?

Re: SR71-A Problems

I am a little reluctant to try it again since this is a production network. The weird thing is I have other access points with the same config that don't have the problem nearly as often as the others. I believe it has something to do with the amount of interference as this is a very high noise env...

Re: SR71-A Problems

Are you running in 802.11 mode, Nstreme or NV2? I have ran into this bug while running 4.16 with the Nstreme package in 802.11. Clients show registered in the registration table but won't pass any traffic, disable and re-enable the AP interface brings them back for a random amount of time. As far as...

Is there anyway to run torch so that it will only show a particular packet mark that is set up in mangle?

Thanks for the info. This is a email from dbii. F36N-PRO is coming out. Hi Dallas, I just wanted to recap what I mentioned to you regarding our new cards. Some of the cards are delayed because we are trying to make it the most stable and solid card out on the market. We understand some of the issues...

Re: Nat translation

Thanks for the Ideas.. Yes, you could do that with address lists. They even take ranges. See below: /ip firewall address-list add list=pool1 address=192.168.0.2-192.168.0.6 add list=pool2 address=192.168.0.7-192.168.0.11 add list=pool3 address=192.168.0.12-192.168.0.16 add list=pool4 address=192.168...

Re: Nat translation

I have a question related to this, how would you go about doing say a 5-1 nat? For example you have a block of public IP's and you would like to NAT 5 private IP's to one Public? Is this something that could be done with address lists? Yes. /ip address add address=1.1.1.1 interface=wan add address=1...

we have 5-10Km links with SXT devices running for several months here in Latvia. It's been cold and wet, some times temperature is -15C, but it works great. We have 200Mbit datarate on those links. 200mbps link over a 10/100 Ethernet port? That is half duplex where as the Ethernet port is Full dupl...

Re: SXT in 2.4ghz?

yes I understand that but the SXT is build for PTP ? ? ? not PTMP IMO it is much better suited to PTMP CPE device than anything. we have 5-10Km links with SXT devices running for several months here in Latvia.
