use / plug it into your infrastructure with another port than ETH1/WAN...standard setup is as such, that ETH1 is WAN with DHCP-Client enabled....but there is a firewall behind it.
All other, starting from ETH2 should be fine and Winbox should detect it.

IMHO, your are turning away too fast.
Finding another device (fiber, GBit-Switch and WiFi) for the same pricetag and consumer friendly is impossible, I think.
Your next best option (and using fiber link is the right way) is to get a second media converter and connect a consumer AP

...for such a simple setup, I wouldn't bother finding the flaws in the remains of an old configuration.
Update all CRS to latest long-term version, wipe settings completly, verify that all ports connect/sync with max speed/rate, create new config, export, carry on to the next CRS.

If you want to get near 1Gbps inter-VLAN routing throughput, you'll have to get a decent router. The cheapest device would probably be a RB4011. The RB4011 can do far better than that. Thanks for your reply, I have 7.22 and a fritz 6591..
....then you should try and update to 7.26, which hopefully solves it.
As said, my ISP would not allow for that on an individual basis. I now use the workaround as described above to the extend of sacrificing a switch port on my CRS326.

Use GRE, as you can use GRE with or without IPSSec encryption....in case there is a performance issue, just disable IPSec für the GRE Tunnel...no migration of concepts needed.

not uncommon...mine run at 75-80degC, sometimes, depending on ambient temps hotter than that....and yes, the 10GBE-T Transceivers tend to consume about 7-8times the amount of power of their fiber/optical based "sisters".

Looks like that RB450 variant comes with the same CPU and performance test results as the hap-ac2, but with much more RAM...which, economically doubles its retail price in comparison (adding enclosure and power supply).

Modifying the local bridge in the AP is not OK,.as the bridge gets declared/created from the datapath setting in CAPSman, isn´t it?

Most new china clones are fakes, as far as my personal experience is concerned. And I agree, using a quad-NIC in x1 means stretching it far....you can get a real i350AT Quad, like the one I am using, like "dirt cheap", pulled from an server via a respectable reseller at "the bay"...

Based on the capabilities of your Hypervisor, you can set CPU pinning for each VM.
Setting/allocating up to 4 cores/threads do definitely work for a CHR instance...didn't use more in my setups.

AFAIK there is no TLS-Auth option in OpenVPN implementation with routeros.

IMHO without TLS-Auth the device is more vulnerable to DOS-Attacks, reducing availability of the service and consuming more resources.
