As promised, here are two photos os the modified wAP LTE Kit with an external antenna.

But that is for sure a limitation from the usb modem, not the mtik, if you can configure the usb to work as a bridge (that I doubt it in LTE modems) the passthrough will let you configure the ppp-client in the mtik itself (having the 25mb top).. The only work around that i see that can be used is implementing a metarouter to create a nat inside for the network and a nat outside for the "hotspot" network, and applying a hellish set of firewall rules...

Did you use the latest rc firmware? It works a little better in the wap lte (at leat it seems better).
