Re: Segment Routing and IS-IS

As a service provider with 500+mikortik routers in the network, we would love to have IS-IS for scalability

Script is triggered everytime a lease is bound, offered, busy, unbound etc.
No it's not, i've tried it.. It's only triggered on a bound event

Re: limiting bandwidth in switch mode

Hi,

Sorry to dig up a slightly old thread, but can you rate limit on RB260GS?

I believe you can but reading this has put doubt in my mind!

Thanks
In current version of switchOS you can only set the egress rate on the ports, but it is possible

HI, have you tried updating the RouterOS version ?

Re: OSPF PtMP type removes network advertisements?

I don't remember where this was in our topology so I can't go and find what I did to fix it But I do know that I don't ever use the PTMP network type anymore, and I exclusively use point-to-point so i'm guessing this is what I did with that link as well All multi-point links now use individual VLAN...

This looks like it's in the beta release changelog.. So it's a known bug, just have to wait until it's brought to stable or LTS

Re: CRS317 Bridge MTU not changing

So it seems that l2mtu of a bridge gets set to smallest l2mtu value of all slave interfaces (OP should check the whole list of interfaces, from the screenshot it's not clear if the whole list is shown or it's actually truncated) and can not be set. And it's logical that MTU of bridge is set to smal...

Re: hardware idea for a multiport switch

At this point, just add the ports to the back of the switch. You'll get 96 10g ports + 6-12x 100g uplinks All in a 1U formfactor, then if you wanted to get fancy, i'm sure you could come up with a way to get 5 or even 6 port height in a combined 2U space. which would be up to 144 ports on the front ...

Re: 100 % CPU on some Routerboards

make sure there's nothing attached to the serial console if the device has one. the values next to serial should be low. if it is high and increasing rapidly, you have the same issue as we had. then you just need to disconnect the cable... Thanks for the answer, we don't have serial cables connecte...

Re: 100 % CPU on some Routerboards

I also had problems with DHCP using ROS 6.42.x. I updated to 6.43 and the problem was solved.

Regards.
My issue is that I cannot upgrade past 6.42.x without crippling these devices.

CRS317 Bridge MTU not changing

How do I change the MTU on my bridge on the CRS317?
Never had this issue before.
You can see every single interface has a higher MTU than the bridge interface which does not allow me to change manually..

Re: 100 % CPU on some Routerboards

Have you already tried to use netinstall to format and reinstall them to the current version with blank configuration, then re-configure them to your needs? Don't use backup/restore. At most do a /export first and then use that to re-configure them manually or by pasting sections of the /export tha...

100 % CPU on some Routerboards

I submitted this issue to support@mikrotik.com i think 3 times now, and have never heard back from them on the issue. After running a firmware update, in fact any firmware past 6.42.x causes multiple devices to lock up, and causes the DHCP server to not start, the CPU is at 100% and barely passes an...

CHR is indeed the only way forward for the forseeable future. However, you should be able to get 20(40) or so gbps out of your CCR1072, Number 1: how many nat connections do you have. Number 2: don't use masquerade anywhere. You're using fast track, correct? There are many small things that you can ...

Have this exact same problem, radius works everywhere, except where it doesn't(firewall rules, etc.) but how do we make the router send out a test request? Not without bringing out clients down to force them to redial PPPoE

Mikrotik hAP AC 2.4ghz utterly unusable?

I am running 6.41 on all of the hAP units in an apartment complex. Devices that usually can connect to the 2.4 suddenly aren't able to. The problem is only fixed in one of 2 ways, 1. restart the router. 2. disable and re-enable the 2.4 interface. There is nothing else that brings back the ability fo...

I've got to say, Why not support an inherently better protocol? IS-IS, while bad in the middle east, is great in ISPs. The largest ISPs don't use OSPF for a reason, and BGP isn't going to improve on the tilera processors any time soon. At least not to the point that makes it usable with multiple pee...

used an ftp client, as well as started the dude up with its files being stored on sd card instead of onboard.
