your correct. It halves the bandwidth after the first hop no matter what type of link it is. Backhauls only have one hope.

Lets say you had a 5ghz radio module with a/n. If you using 1x1 siso then it talks to each user one at a time. Each user has its very own data rate. One customers is 150mbps and the other is maybe 24Mbps. If your using 2x2. You can talk to two users at the exact moment at any data rate.

Yeah, I call them problem customers. Adjusting power or moving the antenna fixes those customers. I sometimes put up a second antenna and move one customer at a time to find some problem customers. But a better tool would be cooler.

Yeah that is correct. I love the spectral scan. Because if nstreme dont work, then you have a problem. Use the spectral scan to find a clear channel on both side and boom. Nstreme works and you just tune a little and you get very fast link.

If you want full RF use the spectral history command. If they implement the spectral scan they will also implement the spectral history. You can also use the dude to give you even greater detail.

Yeah this is very important. Our company just bough $80 grand in the last 2 months of airfiber 5. I am still waiting on the spectrum analyzer for the 802.11ac. We are expanding a couple states wide.

one more thing. If that dont help try one addition thing. Disable all data rates for N and use AC only and set the mc7 for basic and all chains. This will get you less transmit errors if you have interference.

from my experience putting up more links is its interference. Change channel until its faster. Dont use any protocol except nstreme. Nstreme is the only protocol that can pass traffic through the radio at high speeds. 802.11 can pass way faster than nstreme but only wlan to wlan. Not through the unit.

yes 80mhz nstreme. If you use 802.11ac protocol. wlan to wlan you can pass more traffic but traffic cant go through the until as fast. With nstreme there is faster throughput. This is pretty good for nlos and the distance.

I learned gps sync is not good to use in some environments. If you have bad weather it actually hurts your network more than helping. I found that using full duplex links that use seperate frequencies work the best. Now I am talking about backhauls. I am not talking about PTMP.

Thats a part of a wisp. As the customers grow. You have to upgrade the equipment. I climb 3-5 towers a day non stop. We grow 15-20 new customers a week. So as soon as I put it up. Its outdated. Thats why I am using airfiber. I just keep making shorter links. Which means more bandwidth.

All hardware had been working great on 5.2. Mikrotik told me that snmp might be the issue and to try disabling it. I got it disabled. I will let you know if that fixed it. If that is the case mikrotik will have to fix snmp.

I believe it was routeros 5.2 I was on and I did not have any aps lockup. But since 5.4 and 5.6. I have random ap lockups across my network. Is anyone else seeing this problem? I uploaded 2 aps supouts to mikrotik just now.

If you have other aps that are on the same channel and your signal that you recieve is -40. They will interfere with your ap no matter how good the software is. Your only option would be to use gps sync. Your ap and their ap would have to both use that feature. Then you get no interference.

also remember that when you buy a card each data rate has a different power. I dont know why they dont make all data rates all same power. Then we get optimal 1 watt eirp. Most of the time most users are only using less than 600mw and dont know it.
