Re: 'Parent' probes for notification

Hi what about same-device probes notification? Has been there any improvement?

I need a simple function that returns TRUE if the HTTP probe is UP and FALSE if the HTTP probe is DOWN

To be more specific, I would like a function(?) that returns the string "WebServer" if the HTTP probe is up and "Not a WebServer" if the HTTP probe is down, so that I can have this information dynamically in the label. Might somebody suggest something please? I don't think it is ...

Strange graphs plot [SOLVED]

Hello Dude's friends!

Since yesterday my graphs (all of them) have changed their plotting type.

They was so linear, now they are so confused.

I don't remember having changed any setting about.

Might you suggest what's happening and how to switch back?

Thank you

Re: Compare Name with FirstDnsName

Hello Gian, give it a try: Name: check_name Type: Function Agent: default Available: not(ping(device_property("FirstAddress"))) Error: if(string_find(device_property("Name"),device_property("FirstDnsName"))=0,"",device_property("FirstDnsName")) Value...

Compare Name with FirstDnsName

Hello guys,

why doesn't this probe work in your mind?

Name: check_name
Type: Function

Error: if(string_substring(device_property("Name"),0,10)=string_substring(device_property("FirstDnsName"),0,10),"",device_property("FirstDnsName"))

Thanks

Re: Dude 6.41.2 lost SNMP interfaces

The older Windows server version had a lot of bugs, but it worked after all. I'm sorry to say that, but using the current version as a monitoring tool is absolutely ridiculous. Already switched to PRTG, although the Dude has some unique and technically cool features. Rather than offering a product i...

Re: Dude v6 - Missing features from earlier versions

It seems that I didn't carefully read your post. I found function you mentioned, in Dude v4.0beta3: Name : execute Description : executes program, returns array of three elements - return code, standard output, standard error. return code is -1 if error occurs. Only first parameter mandatory. First...

Re: Dude v6 - Missing features from earlier versions

Thank you eriitguy for your verification! I'm sorry I am wrong (I certainly do not remember well), maybe I selected all the hosts on a map and then edited with a one-click the snmp configuration for all of them. Anyway I am glad that it could be an idea worthy of a feature request ! But do not ask m...

Re: Dude v6 - Missing features from earlier versions

I miss also another feature. In the Dude v4 I remember that you could set snmp settings for each network map indipendently. Sometimes I want to completely stop the snmp checks on all the device of a specific map, and before I could do it through the map setting (snmp set to no-snmp), but now it seem...

Re: Dude v6 - Missing features from earlier versions

Hi dear, thank you for your kind answer! I am not so expert, but I don't think it is the same. The old "execute" function was able to catch the output of the batch so that you could treat it as an array of string and get the one in the position you specified. The execute notification you s...

Re: Dude v6 - Missing features from earlier versions

I miss the "Execute" function that on Dude v4 allowed me to launch Windows batch commands and get the output to use it into another user-defined function as the one below Function : check_poe Code: if((array_element(execute("checkpoe.bat",device_property("FirstAddress")...

Re: Syslog help please!!

The import of the old 4.0 beta 3 over the new Dude v6 is almost perfect (or it seems to be) but the "execute" function that is not more found

How can I use the execute function to run Windows .bat files as on the old Dude v4 ?

Thanks
