Re: MikroTik newsletter May 2020 (#95)

Why are you making these black cases? Well, couldn't you have made a normal case for hAP AC3? Like the hEX S by color, or classic white? Again, this "cheap" case as in the "lite" version.

Re: v6.45.7 [stable] is released!

mkx
The mentioned devices are not all the same architecture: hAP AC and hEX PoE are both MIPSBE, so it is RB951G, but hEX (the current one - RB750Gr3) is MMIPS and RB3011 is ARM. All in all that's 3 distinct sets of files that you have to provide.
Wow! Thank you for that information!

Re: v6.45.7 [stable] is released!

When doing CAP upgrades via CAPsMAN, you have to manually upload needed packages to the place configured in /caps-man manager ... in particular properties package-path= and upgrade-policy= (that's a directory on CAPsMAN device itself, I don't know if it's possible to set it to some external resourc...

Re: v6.45.7 [stable] is released!

Cannot update cap points RB951G-2HnD . Sending upgrade request from the controller's capsman - writes - I can't find a file with an update, "..... no such file".
I go to points - in "Packages" - and it finds updates.

Awesome! It's a good thing they removed this torrent - nobody needs it. We need a firewall/router, not a torrent loader.

Case for hAP AC^2

Well, ROSv7 appeared for hAP AC^2, but still no version with a normal case. I decided to fix it :). There are 2 versions of the case in the archive - full and light. You need 4 stands * 15mm and 4 stands * 6mm + 8 * m3 screws + 4 rubber legs (13mm) to build it. https://i.ibb.co/n6MpM25/light.jpg htt...

Delete "developmen" Channel ?

Hi!

I have been using MikroTik products for more than ~ 6 years and have never seen a single update in the "developmen" Channel.

Maybe I should put it away and keep it:
1. Long Term
2. Stable.
3. Testing.
Or replace it with a ROS v7 Beta Channel?

Re: RouterOS v7.0 beta1 - when?

I just want to let everyone know, that v7 is progressing pretty good this year, and most core functionality is usable. Some more difficult parts need to be done and we can release a public beta.

remove "development" from the update menu?

Why not remove "development" from the update menu? For all the time (5+ years of use) I haven't seen a release there. If it's just "for developers" - I don't see any sense in this menu in stable releases.

Re: RouterBOOT 6.43.7 for all platform ???

It's about factory firmware. There are only versions 3.41 on the site. But many of the devices in the box have Factory firmware above. The question was exactly about factory firmware.

Re: RouterBOOT 6.43.7 for all platform ???

Give me an answer, please. There is RouterBOOT 6.43.7 on the forum, but it is not for all platforms. Updated some RBs (750gr3\HEXs....), but officially nowhere is this version, but there is 3.41.

Can anyone answer - will there be a Universal 6.43.7 enable for 6.43.x RouterOS update for all platforms? Should I install it and is there a changelog ???

Re: hAP ac² High temperature

also good to know, the heatsink has a mass, so if it gets heated up to a certain temperature, it will radiate it until the temperature difference between the environment and the heatsink disappears. there is a "buffering" effect in play. all we get from the heatsink is to collect the heat...

Re: hAP ac² High temperature

Economy "2 cents" on the body and cooling. It was possible to make a PCB more and quietly fit everything on the upper side, and below make an aluminum diffuser as in the RB951 + normal size radiator on the top side. Let it be more expensive for 10-15 $, but the user is calm and you + in ka...

Re: hAP ac² High temperature

I measured the temperature with a pyrometer without a box - 52-55 CPU, the radiator - 50-53 degrees and this without special load (I replaced thermal paste with MX-2) !!! The temperature in the room is 24-25 degrees, what will there be in the closed box? 60-65 + without load? p.s. I will repeat - wh...

Re: hAP ac² High temperature

Dear mikro, you got an excellent 750gr3 - a classy body, a radiator on cpu, microSD ... What prevented the body for hAP AC ^ 2 more and standard white? Why this wretched black body? Was it really so hard to do? Is it really difficult to do more with a radiator and a larger body? Maybe you should outw...

6.42rc43 +hAP AC^2 = boot loop

Good afternoon. Such a problem - 6.42rc43 +hAP AC^2 = boot loop. If you roll 6.42rc43 and do not update the firmware, everything seems to be fine, but it's worth updating the firmware and the router stupidly goes to the boot loops. At the same time, I tried to download a stable version via nethinsta...

Re: v6.41 [current]

Hello!

Updated SXT LTE (3 item) - updated normally, but firmware update 6.41 did not come. There are a couple of other devices out there was an update from 3.41 to 6.41, is this normal?
