X86 not accassable / detected

Hi,

I installed ROSv7.11beta7 X86. After the system booted I was able login via local keyboard.
The router does not get an IP address on any interface, nor it is detected by Winbox.

What am I doing wrong?

Hi,

Is there a way to upload files from RouterOS via SFTP?
I have tried what I have found on the forum but nothing seems to work.
/tool fetch should be able to do it it seems, but I can not get it to work.

Any idea's?

Upgrading doesn't help. It has this problem for a long time already, and no upgrade has ever solved this. Maybe a netinstall will solve it? To me it looks like a corrupted or missing .hmtl or .php file. I am not sure if an upgrade always contains te web pages of webfig? I'll try a netinstall tomorro...

Did you connect the device directly to a PC's LAN port? In windows this will not work
because the NIC doesn't come up due to that the the router's NIC isn't up. Connect the
router via a switch to the PC that you are running netinstall from this will bring up the
PC's NIC so it can do a netinstall.

For Google drive you could try to block access to 172.217.20.78 by firewall. Not sure if will work. thanks for replay and idea just which ip adress google and apple ? Yes, make it a habit to always turn on SafeMode when you connect to a device.
Perhaps it would be better if safe mode defaulted to On instead of Off then?

Not sure if every admin will like that, so I would leave it to the admin wether he wants to enable it or not.

Very hard to say... If there is no logic reason related to configuration, I would try anohter power supply.
I have seen defective power supplies causing routers to reboot or freeze before. No harm in trying.

I think that nice feature would be to have Webfig's menu at the left fixed so that it does not scroll
out of the screen when one is going through a long page like the log. It avoids having to scroll back
to go to another menu item.

Or am I just lazy? :)

So I still would check DHCP... let’s say I didn’t have enough lease, or better, let’s say I didn’t have a DHCP server at all. Why would it prevent client to join the ap? Wouldn’t they be able to join letting them configure an ip like 169...... ? IP's like these are giving to an interface by Windows...

DHCP etc is not a concern.
You should check what is the WiFi speed. 60 devices connected to one AP .... expect low speeds.

His issue is that no more clients are acccpeted, not the speed. So I still would check DHCP...

I have noticed that when I update our DNS via ChangeIP, the user agent is identified as
Mikrotik/5.x while we run 6.41.2. Of course this is not a real serious issue. I just wonder
if this is caused by the DNS tool or by ROS. It would look better if it identifies it self correctly.

We use DC converters on our HAM radio repeater sites to power some Raspberry Pi's
and never experience any problems with it. Most of these converters can handle
upto 24/30 volts on their inputs... but to be sure, always check the specs before you
apply power to it...

By links over water, just choose the biggest Antennas you could mount, if your Budget allows that.

Over the Water you will see thermal effects that interfere your link!

This indeed is true, many people don't know. A friend of me recently experienced this thermal effect on his over water link...

That file is almost 4 Megabytes. Many RouterOS devices have 16MB total storage size.

Does the file need to be on the router? I know dd-wrt have this feature to see a vendor behind a MAC...
I guess they check it somewhere online... ??

Try connecting the router via a switch.

I just had the same issue...

Did you connect te router directly to your PC? If so, connect it via a switch...
Windows doesn't always bring up the NIC when there is no link...

Connect your PC to a switch with nothing else except the RB2011 router. Windows sometimes won't bring up the ethernet interface without a link. Today, after upgrading to 6.41.2 my RB2011iL-RM is in a bootloop. There is no
way of recovering it. Maybe I am doing something wrong. I tried netinstall but
the routerboard does not show up what ever I try.

What modem? Why 192.168.0.1? The default IP for most Mikrotik's devices is 192.168.88.1

The notifications caused the 40 second delay on each post submission. You can vote which one you prefer :) There are a LOT of users on this forum, notifications seem to be broken in latest PHPBB releases, we will keep following on any changes in that regard. This is occurring only in v6.41. It happens with RB951ui-2hnd, Groove 52 and Groove 52 ac and hAP lite ac. I have the problem with a RouterBOARD 1200 and all the firmware version that I have used until now. Didn't check on my other devices because they do a 24/7 job that can't be interrupted easily.

mac-telnet from another MikroTik device or there is source code that will compile on Linux. You can recover anything as long as the interface is set up for mac-server on the non responsive device.

Use the valid login and password. If you do not know it, you need to reset the device and use default admin with blank password. Of course I know the correct login credentials.. this is not the problem... If password / username was incorrect then winbox would tell me... Reset to defaults is an easy...

The reset button is the problem not reset contacts. This is a well know design problem.

Do they lose some settings, or all of them? Is the device like from factory, when you reboot it? Possibly the Reset button has some water or corrosion and device thinks it is pressed (so it does a reset). You can use some PCB cleaner to clean it, or, if there is heavy corrosion, maybe some solderin...

When Fing scans my network it only finds a few devices, while each IP scanner finds every device.

You can also consult the log, for any errors during script execution. If you still have issues, please copy paste the log entries of script execution. And include the actual script too. The log reports a timeout. It looks like that the firewall needs to accept incoming traffic from changeip.com som...
