I wish there were an official way to do this rather than relying on tools that potentially cause issues or stop working in the future. Installing wireguard for example or proper openvpn with UDP support would be so useful.

Pretty annoying actually, not even the station displays ANY sort of signal, MCS rates, PHY, NOTHING all is blank, with the latest RC! How has nobody seen this yet??

The testing branch is in beta these days, not RC.
I recommend 6.42.9 for production deployment.

For Wireless Wires, v6.42.9 is a vast improvement over v6.42.5 through v6.42.7 and v6.43.x which seems to exhibit the same problems of repeated disconnections.

Still having issues with multipoint Wireless Wires. Connections take forever to stabilize after first boot. They reconnect constantly during this time which seems to have gotten longer with this release. Took 30 minutes for the links to stop flapping on 6.43.1

At 100% utilization, sure, but that’s usually not the case. Even with overhead, a single station on a quiet 8-station wAP 60G should (hopefully?) see 1 Gbps half duplex.
Still, with the latest firmware, the original Wireless Wire goes pretty far. Anything further than 150m we’ll keep using the dish.

Saw this announcement and got excited: A (cheaper) radio that fills the awkward gap between 100m and 200m on a multipoint Wirless Wire AP where a dish feels like overkill.
But... it only has a 100 Mbps port.

On multipoint we do best-effort residential with a soft promise of 100 Mbps. Haven’t done any throttling yet as we like to offer as much bandwidth as possible as long as no one abuses it.

Me too. We still feel like we’re flying blind with these.
Most if the time they work wonderfully, but when they don’t, we don’t know how to troubleshoot.

rc51 seems better on point-to-point Wireless Wires (fixed dropping issues in 6.42.6)
But we're still seeing a lot of disconnects with multipoint.

We’re sticking with 6.42.3. We never tried 6.42.4 before we tried 6.42.5 and .6, but .4 should be OK as the only w60g change was “improved RAM memoy allocation processes”

Thanks. We noticed a lot of client flapping with rc19 and rc21. Reverting to rc17 stabilizes things.
Looking forward to distance measurements and RSSI in SNMP making a return.

I had the same problem with a ~30m link. New firmware was just too hot. Lowering tx-power to 10 on both sides helped tremendously Try to switch used frequency to 58320 and upgrade to 6.42.1 why should I change freq? Just a heads up, I had an issue with 6.42rc56 on a multipoint (ap-bridge) AP. Interfaces weren't showing up and the station wasn't connecting. I switched to bridge mode and everything worked again. Really digging the rssi and tx-sector-info, but I don't think it's ready for ap-bridge mode yet.
