Yes.... And that is over 7000 dns entries.... And you figure 1000's of requests per second... The response times across the network is brutally slow. If I set the cache to 600 all is fine.

I agree with the one post on this thread... MT is a routing device not a DNS server.

I find that about 30 clients per radio is pretty much the max. So for the RB333 around 90 customers is realistic. I curently have an AP with 2 sr5 and one sr9. Sr9 has 33 clients on SR5 has 24 clients and Other has about 10. SR5's have Nstreme and polling enabled, sr9 has no nstreme. I find that you...

Once you FTP the packages, you must run a /sys package downgrade and it will ask you to reboot, or from winbox go to packages choose routerboard and click downgrade.... then you will actually downgrade.... BUT BE WARNED, going from 3.x to 2.9.X will disable your wireless interface.

The 900MHz band will not work unless all devices are 3.x or 2.9.xx. Hello All, I've been running the Dude since June and love it. Unfortunately as of late I have found that it seems to effect the overall performance of my network because of the polling. I turned off polling and now there has been an unbeleivable performance increase. Anyone else found this to happen...

Get the cavity filter- worth every penny

I have a SR9 AP on a 260ft tower with a 9 dbi Yagi. The AP was registering a -72 Noise floor and my client links were linking but unusable.

Get the Ubiquiti Cavity filter. I put it on the AP and Voila! -95 to -97 Noise floor. The cavity filter works wonders.

Should I use Bridging or Route / NAT for this set-up

For all you seasoned vetrans in the Mikrotik world... I have been doing alot of testing over the past 3 months and have decided to move forward with my WISP plans. I will be backhauling 5.8 from a 240ft tower to my first site. I will be running 3 SR9 Ap's (RB532) with 9db 120deg sectors. Some of my ...

2.4 vs 5.8 - PtMp and Backhaul

Why would one use 2.4 vs 5.8 during a wireless network build. Is it because 5.8 has a smaller fresnel zone? I am planning a network using RB 532 boards. I will use 5.8 for PtMp AP and Backhaul. Clients using 900Mhz and some clients using 5.8Mhz on RB112 for CPE. Can I locate the 900Mhz card and 5.8 ...

SR9 - Weird Mac Addresses

Hello, Over the past week, I have seen Mac addresses that are very simular to mine, only out by 1-2 digits. Detected by the AP when doing a scan. Has anyone else seen this kind of action. I am using WDS AP Bridge for a P2P. Yes my WDS is set to Static on the AP. This is the standard example offered ...

3 Yagi's instead of 1 Omni??

I was wondering if anyone has ever used a combination of 3 9db 120o yagi's instead of 1 omni for 360o coverage? Are there any Pro's/Con's? If so, are there connector blocks to tie all 3 together or would you suggest a custom cable.

This is for a 900Mhz set-up using SR9.

Thanks

I have reverted back to 2.39, same issue is happening. I have figured out that when I shutdown the Ap, unplug the power and it reboots I am able to reassociate the link... but how long it lasts is very random. I basically locks, and I have to go through the same procedure. I think I will switch the ...

Any suggestions?
