I have tried different vendors, AZTech ADSL router NAT, windows xp default internet connection sharing, even through GPRS in which our cellular company provides private IPs on GPRS, but i am getting same error with same error log.

this parameter manages one session per MAC address, if you are connecting from different MAC it will allow you to connect. per username can be managed through your radius.

you might need a billing software to do much more..as it wholely depends upon your requirements what exactly you want..however i have been using the same combination with dialup_admin and having literally no problems at all..i wonder why is it not wrking properly for you.

ADSL Routers are made for plug n play, so that normal users dont have to do much tweaks to get started..MT is for enterprise environment so you have to do all this to get full control on your Router. got my point??

you must be using source or destination interface perviously in your hotspot for natrule..now instead of specifying interfaces, create an address_list of your ip's that you want to redirect to proxy and specify it in the advanced settings of your nat rule...it will work..

you will have to setup a windows machine for your satellite connection. install a proxy in that machine and set that proxy the parent proxy of your MT proxy...it will work..

i think what you want to achieve here is to use your web server root for some other purpose rather than non-paid customer's page.
in that case you should try using different port redirect other than 80 or just create virtual host.

well..that will be a problem because one MT won't be able to identify whether other MT has assigned an ip or not...im not sure if we can manage a shared pool accross multiple MTs. one way could be to keep different pool on both MTs to avoid IP conflict or if you dont want that, a better and managed ...

which radius server are you using?

clustering can be done..or say load balancing...there are different ways like keeping the service name same on both MTz or set max pppoe connections on MT.

first simplify your network
in normal scenario...you will be using pppoe for your dsl(yur router dialing pppoe), configure your dsl router in bridge mode n let MT dial your pppoe to dsl...this way you will have 83.* ip on your MT..then use single NAT on MT n see results.

im preventing this using pppoe... static ip assignment to each suer from DB.. user's ethernet interface just accepts pppoe connections and no ip assigned to it, so no static IPs coz there wont be a gateway to route traffic..

this problem can occur...ping uses icmp packets where as browser users tcp/http packets.. second thing that ping is small junk of packets where as http is larger packets. problem could be with your MTU size.. try ping with larger packets n check on what packet size it gives timeout or MTU fragmentat...

well, im not sure its a good idea, but here it goes,subnet your network department wise..say 6 departments and 6 subnets.. then have 6 different lan interfaces on you MT for each department..keeping subnets and lans saperate will make it manageable and conflict in one subnet will not disturb other.....

well for youtube, these url's are basically redirected to flv files..which are played in swf player..so what you need to do is cache all flv files.. and as MT cache is not configureable..you cannot modify its setting..

if using normal squid box...this can be done using refresh_patterns

the first thing is that if the problem is just with POP? have you tried browsing or other downloads on the system where client is installed. if the problem is with all stuff, then obviously its an MTU or MSS problem.. otherwise u'll have to check the pop3 port..try monitoring the realtime connection...

well there is an easy way to ignore radius client timeout.. install multiple radius against single DB...request from hotspot to radius will be UDP...whereas request between radius and DB is tcp...now you all know reliablity of TCP vs. UDP. we are running a countrywide isp....with just one oracle+sol...

that is the architecture of freeradius..u cant change it..for each check item for each user there is saperate row..

radreply is used to send radius attributes to NAS...like if you want to give specific ip to user against loginname...you wil add ip-address attribute to radreply table..

Dear tom, i checked the setings and it did work. i had to reduce my system's ethernet MTU to 1460 to make it work, that is the same MTU for my pppoe server settings. But changing MTU is tricky thing in XP for a user who is not a computer professional n changing it for all customers all the time will...

network other than pppoe dosent browse--PLZ HELP

hi all, i have mikrotik with most of clients on pppoe with masguerade. some clients are vip that dont want pppoe so i gave them ruoted public ip on different interface than the pppoe clients interface. but when i browse from these public ips browsing is stuck. i have checked routes n they are fine.....
