Re: v6.47.4 [stable] is released!

It's not directly related to this release (or is it?). This is the first release that cant fit in 16mb device (no extra stuff in the flash, no log files, nothing....). So I've upgraded using netinstall which is pain in the ... Some devices with 16mb flash will never be able to update without netinst...

Re: R11e-LTE firmware bug.

No its tricky, some dongles have built-in NAT with crappy performance. Actually my setup is WAP-LTE kit with Hex3 as a client, where normally Hex receives ip from the operator in pass-through mode. R11e is not a bad product when it works, but it is a little bit tricky to squeeze out performance out ...

R11e-LTE firmware bug.

Hi,

After installing "MikroTik _CP_2.160.000_v011" passthrough mode is not working anymore.
If you are using this mode, I strongly advise against installing latest FW.

Re: wAP LTE Kit EU - Slow LTE speed

Sorry for reviving old thread. Another stuff that I've learned is that you cant actually easy check what MTU you should use. Re: Newbie question about bridge mode and management of the device in that mode. [SOLVED]

For sure putting LTE WAP into router mode solves this and you can access it via its IP address. In that case you would not even need NAT, if this is done in the HEX. That's the point. I want NATting and other cpu intensive stuff to be done on hex, its faster, dualcore CPU (also adblock filtering, W...

Re: Newbie question about bridge mode and management of the device in that mode. [SOLVED]

Hi, thanks for reply. WAN port on hex board is receiving IP from ISP (like 37.x.x.x, actually public IP), and network traffic is from LTE modem passed to WAN interface of hex board, so literally you are loosing IP of RouterOS board with modem (its not visible over the ethernet wire on Layer 3). WAP-...

I bought mAnt LTE and connected to WAP LTE Kit, signal increased from -84dB to -72 but speed stays mostly the same, CQI is almost identical. (on average speed changed from 33mbit to 38mbit).

Re: wAP LTE Kit EU - Slow LTE speed

Try:

1) disable onboard WiFi (use only cable).
2) try to change MTU to 1428 (I gained in my case ~15%) in LTE interface.

Interesting diff in RSRQ param.

In my case (Orange/Poland) MTU 1428 works best. Reached 41mbps download rate, previously 33-37mbps.

Unfortunately I have no idea how to get proof that this value is optimal.

@qbic:

what sort of speeds do you get?
I upgraded too and get consistently (much) less than 10 Mbps...
It depends on signal quality, but from 10 to 30 mbit.... depending on operator. Im living in the city centre but in very very bad location, no visible cell towers around.

Comparing apples to oranges. Remember limitations of CAT4 LTE modems.
