Re: MPLS - Labels dropping after outage

We have this issue not caused by MPLS but by OSPF. Occasionally after an outage, we are missing some OSPF routes for loopbacks. Our VPLS tunnels are between loopbacks of course and so if we are missing a /32 route in either direction it doesn't come up. The OSPF route that is missing always appears...

Re: CCR2004 : BGP Benchmarks

What realistically can you do before you notice issues? I have issues with the 1072's where they randomly reboot and the watchdog triggers. Maybe 1 time a week or less. No pattern to it and the supout shows nothing. We have 3 1072's in a live environment with no reboot issues, albeit with low traff...

Re: CCR – BGP+OSPF – Weird latencies

@telcouk, 3 of the charts are dated "06/05/2020", all 3 are showing "Lateny (milliseconds)", but all with different graphs. How to interpret these charts? Or are they of different devices, ie. monitoring targets? Update: ok, got it, it's about 4 devices. You should try to bring the CPU load down, b...

Re: CCR – BGP+OSPF – Weird latencies

what is the icmp rate limit set to? try making it 0 and seeing if that changes anything.
Thank you for you suggestion... I’ve set it to 0 (disable) and after an hour it has made no difference.

CCR – BGP+OSPF – Weird latencies

Ever since we have installed these routers 4+ years ago, we have had weird latency issues. This is on a very lightly loaded network, each router not passing more than 100Mb on average. We have 4 Mikrotik routers in total, all connected to different upstream providers with BGP. Within our own network...

Re: CRS317 High CPU [SOLVED]

Hi Marco,

Something in your config is causing it to process packets in software, the CPU has a 1Gb speed bottleneck.

I would start by taking a look at this page:
https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:C ... s_switches

Re: CSS326-24G-2S+RM hangs until power cycle

When we had ours, we turned off flow control on the switch. We also have a policy of doing this on all devices too, however it could have been missed on some devices (unlikely, but not impossible).

So to conclude, turning off flow control did not stop the issue for us.

Re: CSS326-24G-2S+RM hangs until power cycle

Surely this product should have been withdrawn from sale? Almost a year without a reason or resolution is ridiculous... We installed one of these switches a week ago, today it has crashed twice. Like yourselves it would still pass ICMP traffic, but nothing else. CPU is 60C+ Running firmware 2.10 Aft...

If you have multiple units, do they act as one and support handover between access points?
Also will they band steer devices?

Re: RouterOS v7.0 beta1 - when?

There is obviously a huge stumbling block as to why a kernel upgrade has not happened, either in a 6.x version or the unicorn v7. Let’s not forget that Mikrotik is mostly made up of open source software, maybe one or more elements can’t be upgraded to a more recent kernel? My guess is that it’s fast...

Re: RouterOS v7.0 beta1 - when?

For ourselves it would be:
IPv6: iBGP with OSPFv3 using loopback addresses (OSPFv3 uses link local addresses which is breaking things).
BGP: Faster routing table updates

Re: RouterOS v7.0 beta1 - when?

Elon has stated publicly the release of information about the model will come out around March 15.
Before he said that. You didn't know about March 15, right?

OK so, please wait for a similar statement.
We've been patiently waiting 5+ years :/

Re: RouterOS v7.0 beta1 - when?

We have not advertised v7 as a version. The first post in this forum thread is by a user. MikroTik only mentions v7 if there is some feature, that can't be implemented because of kernel limitations. In that case, it's technically not possible to make something until we have new kernel. Other than t...

Re: RouterOS v7.0 beta1 - when?

Those are subjects to change. I don't want to promise anything and later tell you that we decided to remove something, or similar. Without sounding harsh, I think you would have been better off not telling us about v7 if that's the case. We would not have invested in Mikrotik kit and would have a f...

Re: v6.43rc [release candidate] is released!

As usual, client PC under Routerboard can not connect with IPv6. Also, if you try to disable dhcp-snooping or option 82 again and enable it again, it is confirmed that the command times out. [Ticket#2018083022003334] If IPv6 is configured on a bridge, you may need to mark the bridge port as "Truste...

Re: v6.41.3 [current]

We have improved handling of operations on TILE based devices (CCRs). This fix will not affect anyone negatively, but might help in rare cases with different random problems. For example, there were users who used CCR1072 and CPU core was stuck on 100% usage due to IPsec HW encryption. This fix res...

Re: MPLS LAB Mikrotik as PEs and cisco as LSRs

If you can ping web-sites, but you're unable to visit them, it's most likely an MTU issue from experience. On the Mikrotiks you need to ensure you have an MPLS MTU of at least 1530 to allow an MTU of 1500 on VPLS. I think you need to setup that even higher if you have tagged ethernet on the VPLS... ...

Re: RouterOS v7.0 beta1 - when?

I think we can safely assume that v7 is some way off, with Mikrotik staying tight lipped on a release date. Indicating that they themselves have no idea of when it is going to be released. We are getting to the stage where we are outgrowing our Cloud Core routers, yet we’re only doing 10-100Mb of tr...
