Queue and Priority

Dear MT users,

I am going to use queue to do traffic shapping.

I am wondering regarding priority in queue setting. Which one has higher priority. 1 or 8.

Regards,

Re: Winbox keeps disconnecting

I have a RB-133 with the 3.0rc11 OS on it. Whenever I connect to the board using winbox and either the MAC address or an IP address, it disconnects me after a minute or so. It doesn't stay up long enough to make any changes. I am using the 2.2.13 version of winbox. I have tried multiple PC's and NI...

Re: block hotspot users from seeing each other.

Does your AP has isolation mode? If it does, turn it on, it will help user from seeing each other.

I used Dlink AP, Senao, etc. Most Ap has isolation mode to prevent user seeing each other, or hosting internal game server through AP.

Cheers.

Re: PROXY SERVER + MIKROTIK ROUTER (can mikrotik do this..?)

You are below the router. There is no way you can see client ip address. Unless you put proxy under the LAN itself.

It's coming from RouterOS, the neighbor discovery feature. You can turn it off in IP / Neighbors / Discovery Interfaces if it bothers you.

MUM for Malaysia - Any Planning

Will MUM come to Malaysia. My company order heaps (100+) of Mikrotik (Routerboard, DOM, etc).

Some more, no need VISA to come to Malaysia if staying in Malaysia is not more than 3 months.

Hotel will be cheaper.

Heaps of Hotel in Malaysia use Mikrotik.

Re: Ping wireless AP on LAN hotspot

Ping will work with proper routing configuration.
You should have correct routing configuration on WAN router and on this HotSpot router, that will connect your network from WAN side to Linksys.
Can u show me how? Give me NAT example or something..

It is rear that mikrotik have 100% CPU resources. Check your firewall to see if someone is attacking your mikrotik.

Last time, people was attacking my proxy cache from Internet Zone. Changed the proxy port and it works.

Block ip scanning by enable client security

I think AP (dlink, linksys, etc) have client security features where hackers cannot scan other user ip address, computers, etc since the AP disallow access between each other wireless users. Turn them on.

I have configure all my wireless AP to set the client security to enable.

We had the same problem. It is something with the AP. For Dlink AP, i enable client security where user cannot scan other user even the hacker is on the same AP. So, any user who want to scan for other people AP, they will be unable to do so.
