replace that omni with a sector antenna, in general omnis used to burn your radio especially in noisy environments.

Re: Solving 20km wireless link issues

A solve is to use dishes of more dBi or/and to rise-up your antennas; I don't think if you do some settings you will gain more signal. If you use 2Ghz you will get a lot of interferences; I would try 802.11n (with 2xpair of separate atennas) that works nearLOS

Re: New 20km link, weird interference.

It's not a problem from pigtail, or connectors; I had the same problem, there is problem regarding the propagatin; I couldn't find a fix, maybe replacing with bigger antennas or/and changing polarization; sun also causes to loose signal. In my case also when it was cloudy the signal was excellent or...

For that distance it is possible to get that slow bandwidth, use antenna of 1-2 dBi, also recommend to use r52,r5h or XR5. Don't get complicated with other radios

Re: Mikrotik vs Alvarion subscribers per sector

Alvarion bs works with alvarion cpe. Anyway it is a limitation from the standard. If you want to manage more users, use pppoe (important for viruses), give priorities, make sure all the subscribers have at least 18dB SNR, CCQ>60%, use a powerfull board, recommended x86, P3@1000mhz intel.

Try Ubiquity complete solution, it has some bugs but it works. When MT would produce their own mimo minipci card then you should use it; in my opinion MT tries to release a very stable version for mimo; You can use MT for your BS and for backhaule other line of products.

First of all, it is important the quality of your dish (90 cm is enough for that distance), pigtail... I suggest to use only XR5 or SR5! You will get even 25-30Mbps, but is dependent of you configuration of your system (cpu, ram, etc)! Also a good LOS is needed!
