Re: RB3011: Config import fail's with "failure: cannot change builtin"

DOH, the subscription did not seem to take when I posted this and I just saw the replies, thanks. I'll edit the file and try again, over serial so I can at least see where it gets to (over ssh/winbox I was losing connection and the point of failure). RB3011: Config import fail's with "failure: cannot change builtin"

Been going round in circles, maybe I am missing something stupid hoping someone can help. I have an RB3011 that is running 6.44 where the config has been reset and I am trying to import and previous config export (config also exported at 6.44). When I run import through winbox or with the reset-conf...

Re: CRS328-24P-4S+RM - 24x7 fans or temperature sensitive?

Interesting that RoS spins the fans at 2000rpm, SwOS runs around 4500rpm until it locks up the fan controller and you get 6000rpm jet engine: F3B15E69-DD1E-4FEE-A123-3AA7EEC12818.jpeg Must change mine over, but it means reconfigure from scratch with vlans for cameras and I keep putting it off in the...

Re: CRS328-24P-4S+RM - 24x7 fans or temperature sensitive?

Sounds good! One more question: does this also mean that if I have only a limited POE power request (8 devices with max 7 Watt/port) then my device won't turn on the fans? How it goes in your case? My experience (with SwOS) is that you will have fans running yes, maybe stop/start (repeat at 1m inte...

I had the same issue and changed from SwOS to RouterOS which resolved the fan issue I was having. I had a thread here somewhere about it. At the moment it's running perfectly on 6.44. as it's a core switch I haven't had a chance to update it in a while. Yes they don't seem to care about SwOS at all...

Fans just go into full speed, fault light comes on, but monitoring shows no error and default rpm.

Imho the lack of switch chip features could be neglected if you had the possibility to connect a "real" switch to the 10G port via a cheap cable. I want to add a CSS326 to my CRS328, but worried about the issues you had with the trunk, CRS326 is a lot more expensive just to get ROS (and SwOS works well for a switch).

I used the new swos option under ROS on my crs328 to set IP earlier in the week, it works but you have to be sure crs328 cannot see a dhcp server or it takes that IP from dhcp instead of the configured one.
