Re: ROS v6 Suggestions

I would love to see Winbox support more than just CHAP protocol when authenticating winbox logins to Radius. I would really like to see it support MS-CHAP or PAP specifically. We use encrypted LDAP backend and it only supports PAP or ntlm_auth challenge tokens, which excludes CHAP. Makes it very an...

Re: Low throughput of small packets

They just get ~8 Mbps with 64 bytes framesize.

The rbs bridge the traffic. Connection tracking is turned off and no other special services are on.

Low throughput of small packets

Hi forum, one of our customers needs a 20Mbps full-duplex point to point link, in this case nstreme2 (Dual Nstreme) is the way to go. Therefore we use two 433AH rbs with four AR5006X 802.11abg cards and four antennas. Antenna Type: Airwin 19 dB (5100 - 5900 MHz) Horizontal The link is very good: Rx ...

Traffic priorization

Hi folks, one of our customer needs a router which is capable of traffic prioritization, therefore I would like to use a RB450. ether1 is WAN/Internet Interface and ether2 is LAN (connected to a switch). LAN-IP: 10.108.1.200/24 ip firewall nat print Flags: X - disabled, I - invalid, D - dynamic 0 ch...

We are trying to allow users to get free internet access, but we need to collect some small info from them before they click the Trial link. UserManager won't work because there is no way to allow a free credit I guess. we would like to do exactly the same, do you have found a solution for that pro...

mtu size testing

Hi,

Is it possible to test the mtu-size without fragmenting the packets?
In Linux it looks like this:
ping 192.168.1.1 -s 1492 -M do
I made a custom probetype with 1500 bytes packet size, but I think that these packets are fragmented.

thx,

Loadbalancing with two different Gateways

Hi, I have two wan-internet uplinks from different isp's, what I'm trying to do is a combination of failover and per traffic load balancing. common services like http, ftp, skype, mail, etc. should be routet over the first line and e.g. p2p over the second one, if one line fails everything should fl...

Thanks for your answer. Try changing the ap to be the 333 board. See if it changes anything. I'll try that later. Also do reset the configuration on both ends, and make it again. I did that yesterday but without any effect. Here are my btest results: 133 to 333 (I tested vice versa too with same res...

The Problem is that I got only a max. of 8KB/s ftp throughput (I tested with a laptop and ftp server/client on each side). here are the config's of the two routerboards: RB133C (v3.0rc8) ...

Hi, on one of our towers nearly everybody uses p2p-programs. There are five ap-bridges with about 30 logged in users each. I set up RouterOS v3.0rc6 on a x86 system with two nic's as a transparent bridge, this looks like this: router-----x86ros-bridge-----accesspoints. I tried to limit each users p2...

Hello,

I was unable to reproduce issue you have.
Try to reinstall RouterOS with netinstall and see if it helps.

Regards,
Maris

the problem is that all wlan-accesspoints in our environment are configured as bridge, routing is done by cisco-routers.

Bridge is not the only way to make it work. Try routing, shaping will work, trust me...
does that mean that queues only work in routing-mode?

If I connect via ftp to the MT, the root dir contains the directory "hotspot" - nothing else should I upload the whole *.npk files in the root directory and reboot?
