Recommended upgrade paths?

Hi, I have some routers to upgrade on: v4.10 v5.2 v5.25 v6.10 Upgrading from v6.10 to current stable seems to be fine. When I click download upgrade on v5.25 it goes to v6.40.8, does this mean you should try upgrade straight to? Also anything significant break? Thanks! edit: I should also mention th...

Hotspot https redirect feature

Hi In 6.44 Mikrotik implemented below: hotspot - added "https-redirect" under server profiles; I've tested this and it doesnt seem to work, not as far as I can tell. I can see it adding into the firewall rules 8 D chain=hs-unauth action=redirect to-ports=64875 protocol=tcp in-interface=eth...

Re: Hotspot Apple Login Page HELP!

The problem appears because iPhone tries to load captive.apple.com, but I think if you have 4G and you're connected to an hotspot, then captive.apple.com is reachable and captive portal won't trigger. Have you tried disabling 4G? If in that case works, you should study a way to make iPhones believe...

Re: Hotspot Apple Login Page HELP!

Just an update, the mac's I was testing on were on Sierra. Upgraded to Mojave and the issue has gone.

Connecting to the network shows a popup join window.

So looks like an Apple issue with various versions of iOS.

Yeah I read that about captive.apple.com, but nothing happens. I can stay signed on to the wifi or plugged in an hour, but nothing.

Re: Hotspot Apple Login Page HELP!

I mean, Mac's are like half the computers in existence now, surely someone has a fix for this? I've seen posts of people saying theirs pops up so it can't be all of them. Could be an iOS version maybe.

Never mind. Looks like you can't do this. BUT you can select all and right click edit the password of the selected. So this is fine.

Re: 1 WAN interface multiple IP's

(1) add chain=srcnat action=src-nat to-addresses=24.100.20.101 out-interface=WAN (2) add chain=srcnat src-address=192.168.10.50 action=src-nat to-addresses=24.100.20.102 out-interface=WAN ( I dont think you need to explicitly exclude the machine IP from the first rule and hoping someone else can cl...

Re: 1 WAN interface multiple IP's

Yes thats all correct. I think we would probably want this device to use one of the different WAN IP for all their traffic. Seems like the most sensible option.

1 WAN interface multiple IP's

Hi, I have 1 wan interface and 4 Public IP addresses, there is one inside LAN subnet on interface 2. I would like everyone to have the same public IP and traffic to go out with this IP. But I have one machine in the subnet to use one of the other public IPs for port forwarding from the internet. I'm...

Whats the difference between long term and stable?

Just wanting to download the most stable and bugfree version of routerOS. Which should I choose? Normally Id choose 'stable' but long term is older, so suggests more stable?? In Linux Long term made sense, as you got upgrades for that version, but not sure what this one means because you can upgrade...

Hi, is it all of Winbox version 2 that downloads dll files?

Is there a specific version of v2 this was changed?

Please can you clarify this.

Re: Slingshot APT, RouterOS spying software [SOLVED]

Winbox no longer downloads anything from the router (if using new winbox and new RouterOS). Also, the router now checks all internal file signatures itself.
Hi, from which version of Winbox specifically does not download anything from RouterOS?

Many thanks
