Re: Why Mikrotik ???

I knew that my last point is a great entrypoint for discussions about what the NSA can do or the Russians can do and so on. To list the known fact, that cisco devices where modified by the NSA, as the last point declares the importance i would give him. So calm down 8) So you prefer Latvian (aka Rus...

Re: Winbox 64bit Version

With macOS Catalina and Apples Catalyst it would be an easy step to port the newly introduced iOS Version of Winbox to macOS.
Even if the GUI Concept of the iOS Version is much different it would offer 64Bit Support and a native Application for macOS.
I hope MT will use this opportunity.

Re: Why Mikrotik ???

Here my points why i choosed MT and not Cisco: 1. Price 2. Great Community 3. Many many Features 3. Not an U.S. Product (with NSA Backdoors like Cisco) I builded two 10Gbit Networks at customer side right now and iam happy with it. For the future i hope that Winbox will, after an IOS Version is ther...

Re: Legacy Vlan and v6.4x+ Vlan Config not compatible?

@Jotne: many thanks for linking to that thread. some aspects from my question should be answered there. i'am still in the process of understanding the concepts. my question comes more from the aspect that i wanted to use the vlan config the best way - also to use the hardware (switch chip) in its op...

Legacy Vlan and v6.4x+ Vlan Config not compatible?

hi there i'am currently stuck at a point of understanding the way how VLANs work in different ROS versions. i know that VLAN config depends also on the hardware and if the device has a switch chip or not for HW offload. to understand my question i will first explain the basement if i understand it r...

Re: Email probleme "invalid body"

maybe I have mispronounced myself, I mean it might be related to the fact that there are different encodings for line breaks.
have you checked what encoding is used in sms?

unix world uses \n (chr 13) only, windows world is using \r\n (chr 10, chr 13)

Re: Email probleme "invalid body"

could it be that the problem has something to do with the \n or \r\n differences in linebreaks?
only a suggestion ;-)

Strategy for script sync of multiple devices

I would like to know your way of getting multiple mikrotik devices in sync of different scripts. As i digged into the scripting materia there is no "rsync" command available or other technique to sync defined scripts between multiple devices. There is a fetch command and the way to use terminal comm...

Re: any reviews/comments for CRS328-24P-4S+RM or CRS112-8P-4S-IN poe switches

i have one CRS328-24P-4S+RM here in my lab preparing it for installation next week. i ordered this model because of its 4 sfp+ ports. its not the poe feature which is needed. the device makes a very good impression.
