Re: MPLS over GRE MTU question

But there is a physical L2MTU, depending on the parent interface that the traffic is leaving from, correct? When does GRE start fragmenting the L2 stuff? It's long before 65535, obviously. GRE is 24 bytes overhead - assuming your GRE tunnel is running over 1500 IP MTU, subtract 24 bytes for the GRE...

Re: MPLS over GRE MTU question

Well it seems to work ok, and I asked around about it first before trying, and many others said it works fine. Just unsure about the MTU. MPLS works fine over GRE or EoIP. Only the L2MTU matters, and for GRE the L2MTU is 65535 and you can't change it. The only disadvantage of GRE vs EoIP for MPLS i...

MPLS over GRE MTU question

So if Im using MPLS over a GRE Tunnel, do I adjust the GRE MTU to match the MPLS MTU ? or does it use the L2MTU like any other interface? Whacky MPLS VPLS problem

I have worked for days on a problem with MPLS and VPLS. I have 5 routers in a row. each router has a VPLS tunnel from router 1. I can ping a 1500 byte packet thru to all the routers except to router 3. I assume my MPLS settings are correct for MTU or else the 1500 byte packets would not get thru to ...

The card will only give maximum power when both chains are in use. And that can only be if you use 802.11n (or ´mimo´) protocol.
You use ´b´ so only one chain thus 3dB less.
So why is the card advertised as 24dbm in B mode? 25 dbm in G mode?

The futur is native Ethernet connections and FTTH fiber links, but in the meantime we need to use this old stuff because providers do not want to change their hardware to fast.

You could try tunneling your pppoe sessions to your core router (EoIP, VPLS). That way the pppoe requests can only be answered by your core, and there would be no way for an intruder to connect a pppoe server, also make sure default forward is disabled on your APs.
