Re: Odd GRE connection in ConnTrack [SOLVED]

Do you have /interface pptp-server server enabled, and incoming connections to TCP port 1723 permitted on the router where you observed these "expected" GRE connections? Or the address you've blanked out doesn't belong to that router but to some other machine in your network whose traffic...

Re: Odd GRE connection in ConnTrack [SOLVED]

That's exactly it, Sindy, thank you! E did point me to the connection being enabled by some internal service but couldn't find which one. Interestingly, Mikrotik documentation on PPTP server states that 1723/TCP and GRE have to be allowed through firewall, not that it helps itself with GRE automatic...

Odd GRE connection in ConnTrack [SOLVED]

Recently I've noticed odd GRE connections on a few internet facing routers: /ip firewall connection # PR.. Re: CRS328-24P-4S+RM idle power consumption

...the CRS328-24P-4S+RM.... We're talking about a private home environment here, so what may be acceptable in a business environment is a no-go for me. I mean, come on, 25W? That's 3x the idle power consumption of a modern PC. That device alone grabs a whopping 10% of my whole house's power consump...

Re: Serious problem: Free HDD Space 0 KiB, no space to save settings. RouterOS 6.45.3 [SOLVED]

No, it's the same as applying any other optional package: Drop it in root directory in files and reboot. After it comes up correctly, the file is gone and you either got some more space or you didn't. I obviously can't be talking about @comredperu 's LtAP mini with any authority, but it might just b...

Yes, I added the wireless package I get a message that there is no space available !!! Do not install it, I have tried several times. That was the reason to remove it and I am working without a wireless interface now. Before netinstall, you could try with this https://www.mikrotik.com/download/shar...

Re: CRS112-8G-4S > No 100mbps fiber [SOLVED]

Fast track is on! I can't afford to buy some new. You claim that fast track is on, yet in your config there is nothing under /ip firewall filter. If that isn't a deliberate omission on your part, use this link to properly enable fasttrack: https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:IP/Fasttrack Also not...

Re: High ambient temperature

Good morning, everyone. I have recently finalized my installation, I currently have in a closet these 2 objects: -CCR1016-12G -CRS326-24G-2S+RM The maximum temperature recorded by the router was 54°C (with the fan at more than 5000 RPM), it is currently at 41°C and I'm not too worried about that. S...

Re: CRS328-24P-4S+RM - 24x7 fans or temperature sensitive?

Mine is running v6.42.9 for a few weeks now and was doing the usual fan on/off bounce up to 40C on CPU, but is now stuck on this 24/7 for the last week. I guess it got tired of cycling fans. cpu-temperature: 24C power-consumption: 53.8W board-temperature1: 16C psu1-voltage: 26.5V psu2-voltage: 52.7V...

Re: RB2011 slow internet even with fasttrack [SOLVED]

Weird enough, I put an old netgear WNDR3700 between the modem and router and it ran flat out speed (423mbps down) for 1 speed test and then speed dropped back down after that. I wonder if it has to do with the modem... https://www.theregister.co.uk/2017/04/11/intel_puma_6_arris/ Arris TM1602 seems ...

Script to create directory (Wiki update)

Hello! First time posting something like this and hoping I at least got the right forum. I've needed some auto directory creation in my scripts, and found this ancient script on Mikrotik Wiki https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Script_to_create_directory Of course, a lot has happened since 2010 and the o...

Re: R450G overheating at about 51oC temperature?

RB450 series is pretty old by now and has a history of bursting capacitors. Bad caps lead to bad power delivery which leads to system instability and crashes. There are threads on this forum which go into detail about diagnosing caps condition and resoldering new caps on the board. RB450 case is tri...

Re: v6.40.6 [bugfix] is released!

Updated RB951Ui-2HnD from v.6.39.3 [bugfix]

Internet connection is PPPoE on top of VLAN on top of ether1. Dial out goes trough but no traffic flow.
Downgrading back to v.6.39.3 fixes the issue.
