Re: Bridge vlan solution without adding interface vlan

I was referring from the OP where he wanted to create a 10.0.0.0/16 network with these vlans- onto one bridge - thus creating a huge collision domain. No, that would "only" create a huge broadcast domain, not a collision domain. My question is more like: Why bother with so many VLANs if t...

Re: CSS610-8G-2S+ link issue with SwOS Lite 2.14 and Apple Mac mini

It could be an issue with the automatic link speed detection. As a temporary solution, have you tried disabling link speed negotiation? Apple>System Preferences->Network>Ethernet->Advanced->Hardware/Ethernet and manually choose e.g. 1000baseT

Re: CAPsMAN Client to Client Forwarding...

if one device connects to cap1 and one connects to cap3 they can see each other which shouldn't be the case since client to client forwarding is not turned on. Unfortunately not - this is expected behaviour. The client-to-client forwarding setting only governs the client-to-client forwarding per ca...

Re: Problem with external SIP clients and IpSec/L2TP

I know it's an old thread - but I still have this problem with 6.47.9. Does anybody have an idea why as soon as an L2TP/IPsec connection is made from a device in the same subnet, SIP fails (connected devices de-register, and cannot re-register)?

Re: What exactly is the "RJ11 passthrough" in wsAP?

Passthrough means it is completely passive. Have a look at the pictures in the brochure: https://i.mt.lv/cdn/product_files/wsAP_ac_Lite_180240.pdf The green "RJ11"/6P2C port at the rear is directly connected to the green port at the bottom, with no connection whatsoever to the router elect...

Re: Setting up a Mesh/CAPsMAN - frequent general disconnects

With 5GHz devices it says "Couldnt start. Can'not scan currently (6)". Also, 5GHz interfaces are in italic in "CAPsMAN Scanner" window. Unless specifically set to avoid them, the 5GHz channels can only be legally used by the router after having scanned the spectrum for radar, wh...

Re: Trouble with remote access

I can remote log in to my router using L2TP-IPSec, on my LAN, can ping and Winbox access my Mikrotik APs, but I cannot WinBox access my main router. Let me guess: while you defined suitable rules to forward traffic to your LAN, you probably forgot to set up input rules to allow the ppp interface ac...

Re: RB4011 and RB1100 AHx4 "bricks" randomly

From what I gather here, it doesn't sound like there is a magic software version yet. The one post I saw that piqued my interest was reducing the clock rate. For those that have tried it, what were the results? No more problems since reducing the CPU freq to 1200 Mhz; running for two months now.

Re: RB4011 and RB1100 AHx4 "bricks" randomly

We've run into this with a few clients that run the 4011 and have used the following as a workaround while we work on a ticket with MikroTik. It seems to be more stable in the few we have tested. Set the CPU frequency to 1200mhz system routerboard settings set cpu-frequency=1200 Thanks very much fo...

Re: v6.45.8 [long-term] is released!

I think some confusion and unrest may relate to the wording chosen in the release notes. Previously (up to and including 6.44.6) the changelog started with "MAJOR CHANGES IN v[new release no.]" and did not state any since version number. The current heading for the v6.45.8, however, starts...

Re: Slow speed through gre+ipsec tunnel

I am not an network appliance test engineer - I am just a consultant setting up network equipment. If after more than a day of tinkering according to advice from more knowledgable people I cannot achieve decent speed, I simply have to give up for economic reasons. While it may be true that under wha...

Hello, the same problem here - two ccr1009 over 1 Gbit/sec fiber links attached to the same switch. This is the result of a bandwith test performed on a weekend with no other load on the network: Receive test across GRE/IPsec tunnel (with CPU load): GRE receive bandwith test.png Send test across GRE...
