Tried all of this, speeds did not improve. However, after the wireless reconnected, the traffic started to pass much quicker (In time ) than before. IE from time of wireless connect to data actually moving.

Im confused as to why this is like this. Such a good signal, but such a slow throughput.

Use Netinstall and a serial cable. Connect to it via a terminal program.
There is help on this in the Wiki pages.

If you connect the serial port with a cable it should show up with text, and then a login prompt. If nothing appears, check the cable, and if good, then probably a faulty board.

im pretty sure that you can download the all packages file, and install any items, one or many from that.

I did however notice that in 3.22 trying to install a package via webbox did not work, it would not upload the file. This was when I tried to install one package.

Re: Upgrade to 3.1 on 532A Now Non accesible

HEY, you should of said that before I took it down and upgraded it... Oh well.. I have the one that did die on my desk. Do you want me to install 2.9.50 via netinstall and then try the upgrade with the same wireless cards and same config as I had? I don't know if it will be re-producable.. But I don...

Re: routerboot upgrade on 112 breaks ethernet

Actually I was going to post an update to my own post. The ONLY thing I did was download 3.2 again, and upgrade that single 112 board. THis seems to fix the problem of the dropped connection, but the CCQ is still quite low, but still a little higher then what it was before. The settings are still al...

Re: routerboot upgrade on 112 breaks ethernet

I have some issues with my 112 that was upgraded from 2.9.50 to 3.1, then to 3.2 I have a XR5 card in this rb112. The signal was great before (on 2.9.50) -70 DB with 95 % CCQ, when I upgraded to 3.1 and even on 3.2 the singals are roughly the same, but the CCQ dropped down to 25 - 40%. I can run ban...

Re: Upgrade to 3.1 on 532A Now Non accesible

The packages that were installed by default, and were enabled by default is what was running, with ONLY the exception of NTP server, I should actually correct what I said in my last post, as NTP CLIENT was also enabled and used time.windows.com for time updates, and the NTP server was running as wel...

Re: Upgrade to 3.1 on 532A Now Non accesible

Just to confirm the last post, They are not accessible, as in they cannot be fixed? I can understand that they had a upgrade problem, but my understanding is that they can be fixed via a netinstall. Am I correct in assuming this? I still have not had a chance to get my hardware. I will be doing that...

Re: Upgrade to 3.1 on 532A Now Non accesible

I had upgraded the two RB 532A's. One crashed like that, and this other one is still up and running. I looked to see the firmware version, was 2.9 on this one. Unkown on the other one right now as its -25 and I don't want to go outside and climb to get it. :-) The one that is down was purchased abou...

Does not come up Again? Do you mean, will not? or would I have to bring it down and update it via serial? Is the board dead?

Upgrade to 3.1 on 532A Now Non accesible

I upgraded a RB 532a from 2.9.50 to 3.1 ( Did not upgrade to 3.0 first) At the time of update the board had 1 ethernet port enabled, the other 2 were disabled. It had two XR 5 cards in there, one of the WLAN's was disabled as well. This station had two radio's to act as a repeater, but then network ...

Bug V3.1 Telnet via Right Click on Reg Table

I have noticed that if you right click a device listed in the "Wireless Tables" under the Registration tab, you have the option to MAC ping, Ping, or MAC Telnet, or Telnet. AS well as some others. I am assuming that this would reffer to the hardware device that is connected? Ie the client?...

Re: Sectored Antani's on a tower

I'd love to see the bottom of that :-) How high is this tower? that looks like 1 inch or 1.5 inch galvanized tubing from a chainlink fence :) hey it works, but how is that in the wind, does it vibrate/shake?

Re: Sectored Antani's on a tower

I don't think anyone pointed out or asked the original poster how far apart the sectors were? Could be self interference. What the tilt angle was, he said he was getting a short distance, and If I recall from reading the post he said a 5 deg vertical range, I think that at the 1.5km's and the height...

Send Mail with script or netwatch Things to Look out for!!

I cannot believe this! I searched and searched... and I figured it out by fluke. I'm sure someone knew how to work this.. If you are having a problem with sending mail from the routerboard itself ( Using The Dude will use your MAPI settings to send mail so it does not apply to this issue) I kept get...

Re: A script to watch the battery voltage?

Is this thread dead? I was looking around for a method to do this as well. I have found a device that can monitor temp, and external temp, voltage on 3 different inputs (eg solar panel, battery, etc) it also has a load sensor, I don't recall how much of a load it will handle. The odd ball thing is t...

Re: Video Streaming with Mikrotik

Well, its been a while since the last post, but... Its rather simple. You can either use a PC based DVR ( Digital Video Recorder) or stand alone DVR that can connect to your network. Most stand alone dvr's have the option with the software that comes with it to not only remotley view the video, but ...

Whn you were testing the speeds, did you test UDP, or TCP, and id you do it from PC to PC, or RB to RB. When I test RB to RB with UDP, I get 24Mbps, but when it is PC to PC through the RB's I get 11 and recently up to 12. How do you have the devices connected? Bridged WDS, or Client and AP? Do you h...

Oh NO! Another Newbie with a 112 board!

I'm new, but kinda smart :) I have created a simple bridge with the instructions on creating a simple bridge, HOWEVER.... First my goal / network setup. I want to network two locations, and keep them on the same subnet for ease of use. The link is 15 Km's,and I have a Ubiquiti XR5 card in a RB 112 o...
