Re: Mikrotik GPON FTTH Architetcure

Hello Tom, and others, I'm now looking at installing a 140 unit subdivision and I'd like to avoid a 16K solution with OLT and other fancy stuff, and just get an SFP that I can load into an adequately sized Mikrotik router/switch like a 2216 or some other SFP+ capable unit. I'm looking to see what's ...

Re: My experience and issues in hi-density networks at school [SOLVED]

I've got an apartment complex we manage. It's got 65 units on 4 floors. We installed Mikrotik AP for each unit, hapAC2. I came up with a channel plan, that put adjacent rooms - Right left top bottom and across the hall on different channels to minimize interference and came up with a scheme to apply...

Re: Nstreme or Nv2

I'm posting to try and glean the optimal Nv2 performance. I've run a network for 7 years with NV2, and made various attempts to tune performance. In recent months, I've been making various network upgrades, and one enterprise client who is monitoring our circuit very closely is convinced there is st...

Re: Wifi Wave2 on RB4011iGS+5HacQ2HnD

It's all a bit confusing. and from the documentation, NV2 and station-bridge are not supported with wave2 driver? I see hap ax, but no netmetal AX. Dear Mtik, we really need this. Many of us have lots of AC stuff out there, but will loose competitive edge against other operators soon if we cannot de...

Re: What's wrong with PPTP-CLIENT on Routeros 7 ?

I gave up. Created an L2tp server on the side that had an ip4 address, set profile for the ip pool, created the secret then created the client l2tp on the remote - dynamic ip, firewalled starlink setup - and it worked great. I didn't have time to dicker around with the PPTP issues between 6 and 7. I...

Re: WIFI 6 Roadmap

I'm glad to hear about the possibility of AX in the future from MTIK. With any luck they will go thru it thoroughly and create a product that performs very well. If we don't have something soon us in the mikrotik camp are going to be behind our competition (already are) and we will all need to adopt...

Hello World: I was also looking for a solution. It's likely that the /31 can be solved in multiple ways, but based on above posts and some other reading this is what I was able to do, and how I was able to do it: (Seems to work, but was not as straightforward as I had hoped. ) (I have a small /24 pu...

Re: WIFI 6 Roadmap

With 802.11be wifi 7 now being developed, and plenty of off the shelf AX devices - when can we hope to see something with Mikrotik??. In the list of supported devices, I see lots of LTE modems USB but no wifi6 or 7 USB devices supported. Naturally, Mikrotik will want us to stay ahead of the competit...

Thanks for the correction. Not sure why it was working correctly all weekend or during my original post, but after a reboot, what I had thought was working stopped passing traffic today. Re: Advanced Routing Failover without Scripting

After spending the last hour trying to figure out why my dual wan failover version6 didn't work in V7, Reading multiple posts and watching a utubevid I tried this and it seems to work with behavior as expected. This is on V7.2Rc1 with Cube60AC. Has wlan1 and wlan60. The 60 interface is DHCP and so i...

Re: 802.11ac severe speed degradation with ROS above 6.45.9 (LTS)

Another update. I'm not certain my issue has been resolved. I had downgraded firmware to 6.45.9 and I thought I saw immediate performance increase, but in reality - it didn't last the weekend. However, I know that some of the issues are related to an adjacent carrier who decided to plant their cente...

I've not noticed the issue with my home to barn connection or issues with smaller cells. Or shorter range installations. I don't see any difference in the transmit power from the tower aps. And didn't notice any change with point to point radios. The units I use were netmetal on the tower and a mix ...

I didn't believe it. But the findings in this post are true. I've had several clients on a single access point from our tower. on AP4 we have 20 and on AP6 we have 14. All clients are approximately 10-13 KM from the tower. All are mikrotik with NV2, 3ms, fixed 65% download. AC only. Ceee 80mhz. All ...

Have seen this with AF11, AF24. Have replaced cables, units, to no avail. Just keep seeing the log file with FCS errors on every airfiber link from every side. Doesn't disconnect the link, but just a notice.

I was able to get it to work, but had to add in 1000M into TX and RX field, or otherwise it didn't really push bandwidth. Also the Tab between fields I noticed doesn't work. But this utility was helpful for me to optimize local networks between laptop and mikrotik routers to fine tune settings on NI...

Re: CRS125 Randomly ALL ports switch off then on?

I've seen this on my CCR 1009, All ports go down, system does not log a reboot.

I usually reboot the device, or upgrade firmware, then monitor over time.
Or, replace hardware.

I have seen where a bridging loop can cause all ports to go down without having the system reboot.

Ok - I'll try to uncheck Secure mode. I see in the notes where mikrotik has indicated an upgrade to 6.46.4 will create complications with routerOS previous versions. I've got so much time invested in the Dude and mapping and historical data. Sure, I should probably upgrade to something like Solarwin...

Re: The Dude IS Dead, really, isn't it?

I hope Mikrotik keeps the dude alive. It would be nice if they could let us know what is causing the in-stability. It's been great for me - up until I expanded my map - added sub-maps. Now it barely runs with 200 devices. It freezes up on the client side frequently. Our DB is over 2 gb on 60GB Exter...

Dear Friends, I've got major issues with Dude instability as well. Running on Dude server RB1100ah - probably 200 devices. It flat out won't run and the client becomes un-responsive on most of our laptops. I re-organized the layout of various sites on a large map, and have several sub-maps. I notice...

We seem to have had issues with powerbox units as well lately. I am under the impression that the power budget on the 2.5 amp adapters is very narrow. I've made a rule not to connect more than 3 devices to the powerbox any more due to the lack of poe and issues at multiple sites where to resolve the...

Dear Forum, Cheers to All. May your packets never queue. In terms of the performance, it seems to work fine and the faster the processors the better. I...
