Re: RouterOS v7.6 in CCR1072

The only way to fix the random reboots is to completely turn-off the Connection Tracking. If the connection tracking is on and there is a slight traffic jump, it will reboot. We have several CCR1072s and turning off connection tracking fixed the reboot issue on all of them. Use them for plain routin...

IMHO The current ones are not intended for WISPs. They are mainly for small events or projects.
APs are not powerful and lacks distance + client count.

In RouterOS, we need to be able to define different Radius Servers per PPP Profile or PPPoE Server. Nearly all other vendor products allow this and is a must-have feature. Should we use CHR or x86 as a core router routing around 35Gbit/s ?
It will have only OSPF and BGP (only receiving default route from BGP)

Re: OSPF Redistribute Problem

Actually I dont want to play with the filters now since the OSPF instance parameters should take care of this.
Could anyone please try the simple scenario above and check whether if no matter how the instance is configured, it always distrubutes the routes or not ?

Version is 6.43.4 on CCR1072

You dont have enough nonoverlapping channels in your scenario.
you are talking about 96 radios in a 200m radius.
you will need careful channel planning if you are planning to use that many radios.

I am really shocked at these mikrotik developers. CPU becomes %96 and ports flap. I give you access to the router and you dont even login for 2 straight days. You shouldnt really have questions. It is a very easy to use and install software package.

You can mail Viktor anytime when you have a problem. He is very responsive.

Apart from that, there is a user manual as well. You need to read it too.

Try to get another CCR and divide the sessions.

It is very unfortunate that 36 Core device cannot hold even 1000 PPPoE sessions properly.

If I were you, I would use Radius Manager for this purpose. You can even code your own web GUI for it using its SQL Tables for additional functionality like better accounting to suit your needs.

You just need to know how to insert data into the SQL tables of the RM.

The only problem with CCR right now is that the RouterOS code is not optimized for multi core. You need rephrase your question such as; "When routing and firewall will be optimized for multi core support ?" If Mikrotik does this, CCR is a good choice for your setup for BGP + 1gbps traffic....
