Re: "file operation error" on export [SOLVED]

When I managed to find a time to reboot the router without interrupting near permanent internet access requirements in the house the problem resolved.

Still looks as though it's come kind of RouterOS bug though.

Re: backup 2011 to rs5009?

I did something similar recently. Not too bad (and I was going from 6.x to 7.x at the same time, changing numbers of ports etc.), though there were a few things that needed fixing up. Export compact will avoid a lot of cruft and just give you what you have changed - much easier to review/edit. I had...

"file operation error" on export

Hi, I have a 2 month old RB5009 and it has just started erroring on configuration export to a file as below. [admin@boundary-rb5009] > export file=backup file operation error [admin@boundary-rb5009] > /system/package print Columns: NAME, VERSION # NAME VERSION 0 routeros 7.1.1 [admin@boundary-rb5009...

Extra packages on RB5009UG+S+

I'm trying to set up a new RB5009 to replace a hEX S. It comes out of the box with RouterOS 7.0.5 *stable* - presumably a special spin for this router. However - it's not clear on the download page how to get the extra packages (in particular Dude and ntp) that I need: - '/system resource print' say...

Re: L2TP/IPSEC issues with Windows 10

Hi, I have to confess I skipped over the WireShark stage and straight to changing the max-mtu and max-mru from 1460 to 1300 because it was so quick to try. I did this in "/interface l2tp-server server" as I couldn't see those options in "/ppp profile". Everything started working!...

Re: L2TP/IPSEC issues with Windows 10

Thanks very much for replying, really appreciated. I see quite a lot of activity when I kick off a connection and see traces like the below, which may start part way through an exchange as it scrolls scrolls off the console packet log quite quickly. I can't see the SYNs and ACKs explicitly but it lo...

L2TP/IPSEC issues with Windows 10

Hi, I'm tearing my hair out with a VPN issue. My VPN works with iOS/MacOS devices perfectly - no problems connecting to anything on the internal network. But I can't get it working with a Windows 10 client. Any suggestions gratefully received! The client seems to successfully connect. It can resolve...

Re: VPNfilter official statement

Hi, after the the linked news/thread back in March (https://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=132499) I checked patch levels - or at least thought I had. On rechecking with the latest set of news today, it became clear to me that I've been applying upgrades incorrectly for a long time - I ...
