We all wish Mikrotik to produce xPON low cost ONU. A quick, easy and cheap way would come in handy. This should save Mikrotik R&D resources. How about if they produced a PoE injector that has two ports. Port 1 - xPON fiber in(from operator) Port 2 - Power+Data out(To customer routerboard device) Thi...
wAP ac is omni directional. sxt2 is better than basebox (if in the basebox you mount the omnidirectional antennas). I would suggest trying one of the cAP ac mounted in the same place the wAP is. From my experience cAP ac is far better than the wAP. Also what is the area of your backyard? What are y...
I believe the reason you want to have different configurations per cAP is so that you can assign frequencies. This may not be the best move.
Create the four channels or more on CAPsMAN, then set channel reselect interval to 15 minutes. This way, cAPs shall select the best channel amongst the preset.
Looks like some serious interference. Enable reselect interval on CAPsMAN to 15 minutes.
Reduce Tx power.
Install the cAPs in a zigzag format, not rows.
Possibly add more cAPs.
Control channel- auto
Consider 10 MHz channels
Yes to everything. I would go for a RB4011 and have access list rule on the cAPs based on signal strength not weaker than -67. A pair RB750 for CAPsMAN would also be included for redundancy. Play well with frequencies to avoid interference in adjacent classrooms.
Yes cAPs do support redundant setups. Simply configure a second CAPsMAN exactly as the primary then in your cAPs, add the IP or name of the redundant CAPsMAN under the primary. Any changes to primary CAPsMAN have to be manually duplicated in redundant CAPsMAN.
+1 for this. Normis and colleagues at Mikrotik, we need a roadmap for wireless LAN products development for the near future. Mikrotik is my favorite and default goto device, but one can barely plan for the future as you guys hardly talk of what's in store for the future! It's by guesswork and keepin...
Just to emphasize on Failover and redundancy. Implement proper synchronization so that if master hotspot server goes offline, the redundant one doesn't cause users to login again.
Do this for Capsman too so that when performing changes on CapsMan, one doesn't have to configure two routers.
Sorry to bother, but I'm not that knowledgeable. Guests at our B&B sometimes complain that they have to login again, after the have logged off. They need to fill in again username/password. Do I understand correct that in the server profile "cookies" must be marked to avoid this "problem . See atta...
Your installation site matters. Check out the beam formation pattern of the devices and compare to your installation case. You risk having a weak signal on one side while it goes to waste on the other.
USB power is 5 volts. This is not enough to power LTE, WLAN, GPS and other internal functions concurrently. This is known and a thread about the same exists on this forum. GPS misbehaves without an external antennae. Of course you have to download the GPS package for it to work.
1. CAT6+ 2. Carrier Aggregation- Band 3, 20 and more 3. 3G or 2G - Both. For devices with GPS, this is a must. 4. Region - Kenya, Eastern Africa. 5. Which LTE carrier providers? Safaricom, MTN, Vodafone, KTRN. 6. Support dude remote monitoring just like RMS for Teltonika. Monitoring 100s of units is...
