Re: v6.47.1 [stable] is released!

It says only regulatory domain is allowed for this country. With superchannel, you have to set "no country selected" or any of the countries with loose telecom-laws. The latter is becoming a shorter list with each release. No, for the hap lite it also is a nice feature. I use hap lites on...

Re: v6.47.1 [stable] is released!

@ amojak .... Treat beat like alpha, stable like beta, and long-term as stable. However, even this is not always the case as for example at the moment 6.45.9 long term has know issues with OSPF. I'm currently on 6.44.6 long term and I think many people operating production networks are still on the...

Re: v6.47.1 [stable] is released!

Still missing the "antenna gain" setting though (removed in 6.47), since I'm running the 2011 with non-standard (not build-in) antenna's, and now the gain cannot be set correctly against regulatory-domain. Good! Patches. Put stable 6.47.1 on my hap-ac and hap-ac2 last weekend. But now the...

Re: RB4xx dodgy capacitors

I've replaced Caps on Rb450g's and Rb2011's that were bulging. But before they said "bang" or "poef", and killed the device. :) Some Rb's are designed to run quite hot inside the case, and old-fashioned (wet) caps really don't like that. Usually they will last a normal lifespan t...

Re: v6.47.1 [stable] is released!

6.47.1 seems to work fine on 3011 and 2011.... (other RBs are still on "long-term") Still missing the "antenna gain" setting though (removed in 6.47), since I'm running the 2011 with non-standard (not build-in) antenna's, and now the gain cannot be set correctly against regulator...

Re: v6.46.1 [stable] is released!

@complex1

Thank you for checking and confirming.... I didn't see it on misbe- or arm-arch either.... just on our ppc-1100's.
(and Bcall reported it on a ppc-RB850 as well)

@eddieb

Good!!
Now they have at least 2 of those reports in their mailbox after the holidays. :)

Re: v6.46.1 [stable] is released!

Oh... They (MT) read along.... If you follow the "released version" threads a little, you will notice the comments from official MT moderators. Time and again it's have been proven that user-comments in the forum are picked up by MT in the next release. And that is great! The way I saw it ...

Re: v6.46.1 [stable] is released!

I know it SEEMS to update and run just fine. That;s what was reported by me and others. But if the system package is really damaged, it's just waiting for it to crash/fail on some little used function. Apart from that, this is such a basic test, they (MT) should have tested that themselves before re...

Re: v6.46.1 [stable] is released!

@ Strods and Bcall:

This is NOT a rb850-only issue, also on RB1100AHX2.
This points to a PPC issue....

Or better said: a poorly tested 2 releases (6.46 and 6.46.1) for ppc.
If they bothered to even test it, they noticed it themselves.

Re: v6.45.6 [stable] is released!

With these ever increasing updates (in size) and ever deceasing flash sizes (64->32->16MB), I feel myself more often as I would wish:

MikroTik
Certified
Network
Pathologist

... when my router does not boot any more after update

Re: v6.43.1 [stable] and v6.43.2 [stable] is released!

On Thu Sep 13, I reported in the 6.43 thread that after upgrading hap-lite to 6.43, it would no longer accept ipv4 addresses from our dnsmasq dhcpv4 server. On the HAP-ac it did seem to work fine, as well as on all 6.42.6 and .7 RoS's before it on any RB. Yesterday I upgraded out test Hap-ac to 6.43...

Re: v6.44beta [testing] is released!

RBM11G and R11e-5HacT looses the R11e-5HacT in this software revision and in 6.43 downgrading to 6.42.7 auto-magically makes the wireless card come back so it is a software issue and not a hardware issue. it is also repeatable during testing. RBM33g+R11e-5HacT does seem to work. (design closely rel...

Oh Yeah,

Anyone tested what happens when you choose "SWos" in system->routerboard->settings->boot-os ?
(on a device that normally does not support that)

Re: v6.43 [current] is released!

Upgraded Hap-lite (rb941) from 6.42.6 to 6.43 (Ros+Routerboot), and now internal dhcpv4-client (from an external DNSMASQ server) does not work anymore. The RB does not get an valid IP anymore. (stays on "searching"). If you reboot the hap-lite, the hap-lite DOES get an IP... But when you r...

Hi, Thank you again for responding and linking me to support. It is indeed a recent purchase, but what I didn't know this was limited to only the first 30days after purchase :( What I was actually trying to determine first was where the problem may be. Many of us are aware of the somewhat premature ...

I'm not going into this discussion any further regarding whether we should pursue this because some people think it is stupid. Nor regardless whether some people think calling people, their ideas, or their technical solutions, "utterly stupid" is within common decency. My point is that is ...

It's again 2 days later again, and still awfully silent.... Apparently this device is not yet a Mikrotik bestseller :) In the mean time, I managed to score some other Ros versions to test with (6.43rc6, 6.43rc40 and brandnew fresh 6.43rc45). And, hinted by https://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php?f=...

Re: hAP ac² High temperature

For anyone that is interested, hap-ac2 is a drop-in fit in the classic white cases. I mounted mine in a RB750gl case. Only thing missing is the mode button (next to the usb), which I don't use anyway. Even the leds are in the right location. :) Clearly Mikrotk had this as an option in mind, just as ...

Re: Script to reduce Wi-Fi transmitter power on schedule/at night

Hi, Sorry that I'm late to this party, but I was wondering if it would be possible to detect if a client wants to connect, and only THEN increase transmitting power of the AP? Eg. through the registration list. (and decrease if there is no more clients) Not that I'm worried for my health, but just a...

Hi Mistry7, thank you very much for taking the time to answer. Let me first answer you questions: I tried all five 20/40/80 channel widths, also the XXXX. They all had in common that if you "manually" select a frequency, the AP starts scanning for radars, then doesn't find one, and then st...

RBM33g+5hact: hw defect, bug or "feature"

Hi Everyone. Long time reader, first time poster. I have an issue with the hardware. So before i go back to my re-seller, I figured throw my issue in the group here to see I'm not missing anything. I recently bought a RBM33 and a R11e-5hact (and 3 acswim antennas) in order to replace my Hap-ac. Sinc...
