Re: Bridge Filter MAC + Mask

I know this is an old post, but I was looking for the same information and couldn't find it anywhere. Here's what I worked out: To match only data from dell devices (for example), Src MAC Address: 00:1A:A0:00:00:00 Src Mac Mask: FF:FF:FF:00:00:00 This rule will match 00:1A:A0:xx:xx:xx I haven't tri...

Re: cAP 2n

@Quindor, I'm definitely not on the WANT MOAR NOW OR BAD STUFF WILL HAPPEN bandwagon but those of us at the US Mum were treated to a fine new products announcement that included the CAP2n and a nice glossy new products for Q4 2014/Q1 2015 brochure which also features the CAP2n. I think it would be e...

Re: Map2n + Branding Maker

NAB,

Thanks for the heads up. I noticed your issue came from the skin system but it could very well be related. I will keep any eye on the issues.

Thanks!

Re: Netinstall for Map2n

In answer to your question.. Yes I have used Netinstall before, I mentioned that in the original post. The part I needed answered was which indicator I should look for as listed in your post it is the USR led. I will try again with that information. Thank you for taking the time to answer the questi...

Map2n + Branding Maker

I'm new to the branding maker features but the package I have created and that works on other boards/devices does not seem to have any effect on the Map2n. Is there something that I am not doing correctly?

Netinstall for Map2n

I may be missing something or doing it completely wrong, but how do you NetInstall the Map2N? I have tried using the boot options under System-> Routerboard for Ethernet then NAND .. No Go Additionally I tried using the ring jumper on the PCB and that didn't seem to get anything done either. The Mod...

Re: Anyone experimented with the new Qualcomm Gobi WWAN

Good News! After banging my head against what I thought was an IRQ issue with the Gobi2000 and the Ethernet Controller I have discovered that my problem was a bad FW image. When I ran a CRC check against it the sum was incorrect. I tracked down another version of the Firmware from a different locati...

Re: Anyone experimented with the new Qualcomm Gobi WWAN

I have e-mailed in a copy to support@mikrotik.com. The files is from a RB411U with a Qualcomm Gobi2000 Chipset card manufactured by HON HAI Precision Industry Co. Ltd. I have tried to load the the firmware files using /gobi .. /Gobi .. and /firmware/gobi .. /firmware/Gobi. Apparently the firmware fi...

Normis,

No doubt, when I was working with Eje at Wisp-Router, we had trouble getting bandwidth for our training classses all the time. Most hotels are notorious for over selling thier in house bandwidth.

Re: force HomePage

Hidagar, You can achieve this by using the Captive Portal feature of the Router OS's Hotspot. It will require some editing of the default html files for the Hotspot which my get a bit complicated for some users. I suggest reading over the Hotspot documentation, it will give you some pointers on not ...

Good Afternoon Fellow Geeks, I spent the better half of the day coming up with some Mikrotik Stencils for Micrsoft Visio 2007, and I thought I would share them with you. They probably aren't the most elegant stencils ever created, but I was making them for self edification. Included in this stencil ...

RouterOS Not sending DHCP-Server Option 66

There may be a be a bug in the dhcp server implementation used by Mikrotik. I have been trying to implement a FOG (Open Source Disk Imaging Server) to help with managing our workstations. When I used the dchp3-server daemon with Ubuntu and FOG it works perfectly fine with the following configuration...

VPN + Dynamic Routing v3.0rc2

I'm not sure if anyone else has experienced this issue, but when I try to run pptp tunnels with OSPF or RIP route distribution over the tunnel the connection collapses continuously. However when I apply the routes via static assignment the tunnel has been stable for 14 hours. I will attach a copy of...

Re: RoS 3.0rc2 Encryption Problem - PPTP Connections

Sorry about the delay, but I've found out what was causing the issue at least superficially. When ever MSCHAP 2 was selected, tunnel would not connect and I would get the same error. However if I removed the MSCHAP 2 option from both ends of the link the tunnel would establish and work. I will try a...

RoS 3.0rc2 Encryption Problem - PPTP Connections

I have been experiancing an occaisional issue with PPTP connections from windows hosts, I can establish a tunnel and and pass traffic but it will not work if I leave the windows encryption settings at default. I have to reconfigure the VPN dialer to use optional encryption, which then defaults to no...

Windows Vista making IPv6 support more pressing.

I have a few customers who have deployed hotspots in condiminum envrioments where a good number of thier clients run Windows Vista in some flavor or another. With IPv6 Enabled by default it has been causing some issues with the Hotspot. I know it can be disabled but most of these customers are senio...
