Documentation site down?

Is it just me, or is the documentation site (https://help.mikrotik.com/docs) currently offline? I'm getting a 502 Bad Gateway when trying to pull up the documentation. The old documentation at https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki does still seem to be up, though. Not much help when looking for the documen...

Re: RouterOS v7.0beta1 (ARM)

For anyone who's able to test OpenVPN UDP support in RouterOS 7, is it possible to have the OpenVPN server listening on both UDP and TCP at the same time with a single router? That isn't possible with stock OpenVPN either! A major omission IMHO. Yes, but with stock OpenVPN you can just run multiple...

Re: RouterOS v7.0beta1 (ARM)

For anyone who's able to test OpenVPN UDP support in RouterOS 7, is it possible to have the OpenVPN server listening on both UDP and TCP at the same time with a single router? Otherwise, if you've already deployed with TCP, you end up with a chicken-and-egg problem switching to UDP (if you switch th...

OpenVPN Incorrect Password

Currently, in our setup, with the Mikrotik as an OpenVPN server, when a client dials in with an incorrect password, there is no message sent back to the client that there was an authentication issue; instead their connection is just unceremoniously dropped, which looks like a network issue from the ...

Re: Bug: ISO8601 timestamp in syslog - always using UTC time

I'd like to say, I _don't_ think this is fine. With syslog-time-format=iso8601 , RouterOS emits syslog events that give the timestamp pre-converted to UTC but then include a local-time UTC offset anyway. In other words, If it is 2018/06/08 at 10:00 in America/New_York (so, UTC-0400), then the timest...

IPSec Policy cannot get some attributes

I can create an IPSec Policy from the shell or via the API, but, when trying to retrieve the current value of an existing policy, some items seem impossible to extract. For example: [test@Test] > /ip ipsec policy add action=encrypt comment=testing dst-address=0.0.0.0/0 src-address=0.0.0.0/0 sa-dst-a...

Feature Request: Conditional DNS Forwarding

It would be brilliant to add conditional DNS forwarding to the Caching DNS Forwarder in RouterOS. That is, the ability to specify "if a request comes in for a record under suffix foo.bar, forward it to 172.16.0.2 rather than the normal DNS server". This is particularly helpful for allowing...

Re: v6.43rc [release candidate] is released!

So, I spun up a brand new CHR in AWS and updated it to 6.43rc56, to play around with it. One of my main goals was to update the ruby 'mtik' gem to use the new login method, so that when the 6.43 is eventually released for real, I can continue to use it. Oddly, though, the old login method still seem...

Move default images and mibs

So, I'm running a CHR and initially let it put The Dude's data in the default location on the primary disk. After a while, I decided I wanted to move it to a separate disk so I: Stopped the Dude Attached a separate disk, and formatted it Moved the Dude database over to the new disk Reconfigured The ...

Creating a custom CHR AMI

Has anyone had any success building a custom AMI based off of the official AMIs published by Mikrotik? Normally, you'd be able to do something like this: Spin up an instance, let it boot SSH in and configure your instance as needed Stop the instance and export an AMI based on it. Launch new instance...

Re: Unable to upgrade RouterOS

No; turns out that while I had placed the RouterOS mipsbe package on the Dude server, I had neglected to place the NTP package on there. The target devices had the NTP package, so the update wouldn't go through. Once I found the relevant info in the Devices screen it was plain as day, but, it would ...

Unable to upgrade RouterOS

I've got The Dude running, it's discovered a bunch of our devices, it can read RouterOS-specific stuff from the devices (e.g. the list of packages installed and their versions). I've also got the routeros 6.42.6 mipsbe package available in The Dude's storage folder, and when I open the upgrade menu ...
