Re: hAP ac^2: Q on passwords and wireless speed

Webfig is ok for normal configuration (but when you mess it, only Windows tools like Winbox and Netinstall can recover the hap). The important thing is to never use quickset after initial setup. If you change anithing in Quickset after you get in trouble. Use only Webfig and Terminal for tuning and ...

Re: capsman keep WiFi up when capsman unavailable?

Kinda kills it as a replacement for unifi. If the path to the device manager goes down for some reason, you really don't want all the APs to go down. That doesn't mean the internet is down. Just rebooting the manager for an update shouldn't kill all the APs connected. You can have multiple CAPsMAN ...

I have spend a lot of time on the UBNT forum, mostly helping others. I think that forums in common are the best resource for solving problems. Especially because you get support from a community. And not only the community, there are some MikroTik employees giving good information as well. I believ...

Yes, you can use switch of other brands. If you need VLAN then you need a "smart switch" that can manage them.
In my network only the switches aren't Mikrotik (i already had them from the previous network) and Capsman works well.

Do any MikroTik wireless access points offer near gigabit speeds? No. And remember, that normally Mikrotik provide max 50% of spec -s speed. ? I reach the full standard speed with wAP AC under CAPsMAN and 1x1 802.11ac clients (433 - overhead = 300 Mbits half-duplex in tcp connections). Of course fu...

Hi Guido!
I use R11e-LTE on Wind3 in Italy. It's not an eSIM modem.
It need a external reader for a normal SIM (usually a full-size SIM in the Mikrotik device that are ready for it, like the WAP R, WAP AC R, LtAP R, LHG R, ecc ecc).

Maybe yes Maybe No. All device with RouterOS have complete software features, but the switch (like CRS328-24P-4S+RM) are "slower" for firewall/router/captive portal use... Hi, here in Italy both WAP LTE and LHG LTE with standard Mikrotik modem work very well.
I reached stable 95-100 Mbits data transfer without problem (on 20Mhz B3).
Perhaps is a problem of your country's mobile operator.

Re: Will this equipment work? [Choosing the right Hardware]

I have no personal experience with using those APs but they should be OK for that kind of performance. The RB952 is a combined router, switch and AP with good overall performance. As you don't need a router there you could also consider a separate small switch and another cAP AC. Or use a HAP AC2.....

I used one WAP LTE with a third party panel antenna (9 dbi for LTE800, around 14 dbi for 1800-2600) for last year. The 2dbi integrated antenna is too weak.
Now i changed it with a LHG LTE and i see an huge improvement (i live in countryside and the bts are far and behind woods).
