Re: RB4011

Thanks for all the suggestions. I decided to test additional SFP modules. 10Gtek 10G copper SFP+ module for Cisco did not register in RouterOS 10Gtek 1G copper SFP module for UBNT works fine I have a UBNT 10/100/1000 SFP module that was not tested because I ran out of time. The RB4011 crashed when c...

Re: RB4011

No surprises here. The RB4011 is fast. It can easily handle Gigabit Internet. Unfortunately, the 10GTek SFP+ copper module had link negotiation issues with the DOCSIS 3.1 cable modem. I had to drop back to ether1 as the WAN connection. This means I will not be able to use all the paths to the CPU fo...

Re: RB4011

I completed the config last night, but haven't installed the RB4011. I currently have it configured to use the SFP+ port for WAN using a copper module. I briefly test link negotiation with the 10GTek 10G copper module and it worked with a MacBook Pro. We'll see how it works with the DOCSIS 3.1 cable...

Re: RB4011

I received the wired version of the RB4011 today. My first impression is the amazing build quality. It's much more substantial than my RB450Gx4 kit that it will be replacing.

Re: RB4011

Ordered one too. I went with an international reseller with US plug available. The lack of VAT and lower price made up the difference in shipping estimate on my pre-order from a US reseller. Still no ETA for US resellers. First thing when it arrives I'm going to test the SFP+ port with a 10GTek 10g ...

Re: RB4011

Mikrotik sales inquiry for the US said "October" availability. I was able to pre-order through Streakwave (authorized reseller).

Re: RB4011

Agreed. I would definitely like to use the SFP port for uplink. I have a bunch of 10Gtek 1G copper modules laying around that I could test. That would prevent the negotiation problem to 1G as they are fixed modules. I'll give the 10Gtek 10G copper module a try too. I'm in a similar situation where I...

Re: RB4011

Is there a recommended SFP+ 10G Copper module that is proven to negotiate to 1G reliably?

Re: RB4011

Thank you for the explanation. I know I'm getting ahead of myself on the config before the device is even shipping. But based on the 2.5Gb/s limitation for each switch chip, it would be best to place devices with a majority of internet traffic on the same switch chip as the port being used for WAN? ...

Re: RB4011

I'm still fairly new to MT. I'm enjoying the RB450Gx4 and have the RB4011iGS+RM on pre-order with a US authorized distributor. Question(s) on how RouterOS handles the two switch chips and impact to performance: 1. How does QuickSet typically handle two switch chips? Does it define two separate subne...

Re: RB450Gx4 WAN throughput decreases

@Nathan - Not sure how ether2 was the interface for the IP > Address as this setting was created by QuickSet. I'll scrub my config later today to see if there are any other reference to a specific port vs bridge. @proximus - It appears the WebFig issues is resolved in the release candidate. I prefer...

Re: RB450Gx4 WAN throughput decreases

The throughput issue seems to be resolved. I updated the firmware on the UAP-XG to the latest stable build and also changed IP > Address > Interface to bridge from ether2. Not sure which one corrected the problem. New Issue: WebFig freezing appears to be related to using the logout in WebFig. Whenev...

Re: RB450Gx4 WAN throughput decreases

Correct. The Bridge is labeled bridge. It was a typo on my part from my Edgemax days where bridges are software and labeled br0. The only changes from QuickSet are related to IPv6 configuration. I changed the interface in IP > Addresses from ether2 to bridge. It appeared to take the setting without ...

Re: FastTrack slow performance

Interesting post. It caught my attention because your slow down is the same rate I'm randomly experience at 20mbps. I have gigabit internet and when things are working well I am able to max out the connection on wired or wireless (RB450Gx4). However, I get random slow downs to 20mbps on a wide range...

Re: Whats the best current home routerboard for a gigabit ISP?

I have Comcast / Xfinity Gigabit tier and I recently switch over from Ubiquiti EdgeRouters to the RB450Gx4. It easily saturates the connection. Based on the test it can handle a few rules as well. It’s essentially a hAP ac2 but with more storage and more RAM instead of wireless. You can find fully b...

RB450Gx4 Performance and POE out

I wanted to get an honest assessment of the performance of the RB450Gx4 compared to the Ubiquiti Edgemax Edgerouter Lite/POE (ERL / ER-5-POE). I only need one 48V POE out. I also think having all the ports on the switch chip is more flexible. I am trying to understand which will perform better for G...

Re: Hap ac2 vs. Hex S

Is the Hap ac2 the same board as the RB450Gx4 just without the wireless module? I’m trying to upgrade from a ubnt edgerouter ER-X-SFP because it can’t full take advantage of gigabit internet. Plus there is a bug that IPv6 PD does not work with hardware acceleration which is necessary to get close to...

Webfig unresponsive with self-signed cert for www-SSL

Model: RB450Gx4 RouterOS: v6.42.7 Problem Description: Webfig becomes unresponsive after logging in using www-ssl (443). Webfig can not be reached on www (80) after it becomes unresponsive. Power cycle restores access, but the problem persist as long as the user logs in with www-ssl (443). www-ssl i...
