I have installed some MTs on intel-based systems with P4 CPU and I had trouble with system hanging up at the average CPU load. The solution was to disable Enhanced C1 control, Intel SpeedStep Technology and Hyper-Threading Technology in BIOS. Now everything runs perfectly.

And anyway, I suggest admins to keep the latest proven to work versions locally. Twice I've run into situation when some routers refuse to start after upgrade, and the only way to recover it was to downgrade from archive. One of this failures leaved me without access to Internet at all.

I dont need to do either, I am just saying somone could run into this situation.

I hold an archive of many versions since 2.8.13. This archive helped me a lot of times in different situations.

For automated administration tasks I use perl script, that logins into router via SSH, sends console commands and returns the RouterOS responses back to the script. This solution works fine for me and is more safe than http. This idea I picked somewhere on this forum.
